We were invited by a friend to join for fireworks and a BBQ. The facility (barn) was gorgeous with really nice booths and tables. The patio area overlooking the pond was very spacious, and they had several games out for people to play and enjoy.
We were served a great BBQ brisket with several sides and various desserts that guests had brought.
The fireworks started a little early due to an incoming rain, but it was well timed to miss it. Really enjoyed the fireworks, food, and hospitality of our hosts.
It would be a great place to hold an event the proprietor would be an excellent host.

Simple elegance that feels like home,.....a place to celebrate and fall in love over and over again. We recently had the opportunity to perform a great celebration at Sunset Ridge with Seth and Sara. Two souls knit together at the heart. There are lot of barn venues in Iowa, but what separates this one from the rest are the owners, Heather and Ryan, providing excellence without stress. A love for the family farm the barn sets on, sprinkled with memories of raising livestock and providing sustenance for their family and others. It's not just a business for them it's a lifestyle. Along with all the extras they provide there are some things that don't happen here: noise and anxiety. Nestled deep in the country side this is destination wedding venue,...there are no other events and activities that will distract from the intimacy of your wedding. Heather and Ryan love each other and share that love with excellence, peace, joy, gentleness, kindness and hospitality. With 25 years of wedding experience this venue is a keeper for me,.

Wonderful venue! As a wedding planner, I’ve been to a lot of venues, and let me tell you this is one of the best. Owner was present and helpful, staff was friendly and easy to work with, and the venue is just stunning! You can tell this was built with a lot of thought to accommodate all sizes of weddings and events. I was very impressed and hope to be back soon!

Sunset Ridge is an absolutely beautiful venue and the owners were incredibly nice and accommodating. The covered deck is wonderful if you want an outdoor ceremony but don’t want to have to worry about weather complications. The inside is gorgeous with the wood interior and built in seating. The owners were so sweet and did everything they could to make our day perfect. Thank you Heather and Ryan!

This is a beautiful venue for a wedding! It's perfect! If you have your heart set on an outdoor wedding you're safe unless severe weather is coming! You're under a roof but it's wide open! They have ceiling fans! There is a beautiful pond and natural beauty of the outdoors! The inside is air conditioned. It's clean and a nice place to have your reception!

Just had our daughter's wedding at Sunset Ridge and it was amazing!! The owners are super sweet and they walked us through every step of the process. They were very thorough and gave us great recommendations. The setting was beautiful and even with cool, cloudy weather the view was spectacular! We could not have been more pleased and would highly recommend!!

I just got married at Sunset Ridge Barn, and anyone looking for a wonderfully rustic feeling venue without the pitfalls of an old barn (little or no AC, not handicapped accessible, awkward space, etc.) this is absolutely the place for you! The venue is GORGEOUS especially with all of the touches Heather and her husband have added, from the lights and tulle draped across the ceiling and loft, to the permanent arch they installed in the deck, it is a dreamy space. The outdoor space is just as wonderful as the inside and we had people outside all night playing yard games and making s'mores! There is also a variety of decor options and linens that the venue allows you to use and helps to set up, which is AMAZING. But more than anything what makes this venue special is Heather and her husband (and their amazing staff)! They are possibly the kindest people I have ever met and they did everything in their power to make our day go perfectly (and it did!). Heather answered about a million questions for me quickly and patiently and had great suggestions and tools to use while prepping for the wedding! And her staff the day of the wedding were incredible. Everyone was kind and efficient and obviously great at their jobs, including our awesome bartender Amber! Our day was as close to perfect as humanly possible and that is largely due to this amazing venue and they even more amazing people that run it! If you decide to book Sunset Ridge, I promise it will be the best decision you make in your wedding planning!
