We did the morning tour of 2.5 hours in early December. The weather was great. Nancy is very knowledgeable about the wildlife and ecosystem of the waterway and provides great educational commentary throughout the trip. She has many years of experience fighting for the protection of the waterway and its natural inhabitants.
Nancy provides a light lunch and did well to accommodate some dietary restrictions. She also has some artifacts on board for hands-on experience including the opportunity to view the abundance of microscopic organisms that are teeming in the water.
We managed to spot some manatees, a few dolphins and even a shark. The visit to bird island was great. She anchors off-shore for lunch which provides plenty of opportunity to view the hundreds of birds that take sanctuary there.
Would highly recommend this tour!

I absolutely had a wonderful, informative tour with Captain Nancy. We saw dolphins, manatee a turtle, and birds. Nancy is an educator with a passion for the environment and marine ecosystem. The day went beyond my expectations! I would highly recommend the tour.

Fabulous tour with Captain Nancy, an experienced conservationist and activist! She takes you on a journey through the Indian River Lagoon estuary, pointing out the wildlife and giving the reasons the area should be protected from further damage from humans. Given that is is the most biodiverse estuary in North America, this is very important! The people that build houses on the estuary in this beautiful location need to be more educated on flood mitigation strategies that do not negatively impact the wildlife that share the space. The reasons that people move to Florida often include boating and fishing, but more needs to be done to preserve the manatee population from harm by boat strikes and an effort made to preserve the sea grass beds that sustain manatees. A little education can go a long way and the bottom line, as Nancy points out, is that if Floridians want to continue to enjoy nature around this estuary, they need to be educated and understand why it is important to defend the area and live there in an ecologically responsible way. You will feel that you understand these issues and want to help after taking this tour with Captain Nancy. She also takes you to an incredible ecologically protected Bird Island, that is fabulous! You will witness many bird species interacting together...especially the pink Spoonbills. Enjoy!

Captain Nancy is extremely knowledgeable about the current ego system and was eager to share her knowledge. The boat was clean, comfortable, and safe. We saw a beautiful pod of dolphin, a glance at a manatee, several different bird species, and different types of mangroves.

My family did the 2.5hr tour with Nancy, which included a nice lunch. Nancy was very knowledgeable of the area wildlife and conservation efforts, which she is active in. Some perks for us is that her boat made it easy to board for those with mobility issues and the motor isn't overly loud, which was helpful as our party has someone who has noise sensitivity. My entire family enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend this tour for those looking for a low key afternoon on the river.

Me and my family members (6 of us) went on the morning tour with Captain Nancy. It was incredible. While we did not see any dolphins or manatees, we got to feed hungry catfish, and we even got to help her save a pelican that had a hook in its wing and could not fly. Her dedication and determination to save that bird brought almost all of us to tears. It was so far in his wing that she spent almost 30 minutes trying to free it with as little damage to him as possible. We stopped at a beach and kayaked for a while which was enjoyable. She even made accommodations for my mother’s service dog. She was super knowledgeable about pretty much everything, and was able to point out tons of birds and knew what each kind were, how old they were, and nesting habits. All in all, ask any of us and we would totally recommend Captain Nancy’s tours.

This was a great experience. Captain Nancy is a wealth of information and you can tell she is very passionate about the environment. We had hoped to see dolphins and manatees but that did not happen. Although observing the birds on bird island was really special. I loved watching the interaction Captain Nancy had with Blue the Blue Heron. It was definitely worth it.

Captain Nancy was unbelievable! She was beyond knowledgeable of the lagoon and surrounding ecosystem. The tour was fun, informative, and exceeded everything that I expected. We saw all sorts of birds on Bird Island and, while it's not a guarantee every time, a family of manatees. I even saw a loggerhead turtle on our way back to port. We brought our 4 yr old and 18 mo old, and Capt Nancy went out of her way to be accommodating and ensure that everyone had a great time.
