Laura at the front desk was amazing! She was so friendly, welcoming and made checking in a breeze. I loved the plants in the lobby, they made the space airy and light. Our stay was lovely, very quiet and the room was clean and fresh. We would definitely stay here again.

When I first came to this hotel they did not want to give me my hotel room that I had already reserved since 1 month ago. They moved me to a completely different room that was NOT the one I had planned on having. My original room was supposed to be on the bottom floor and instead I got one on the top floor and the top floor was super unsafe. Me and my family did not feel safe because the floor was uneven. For breakfast I saw many people who were homeless eating there and yet the people who worked there did not kick them out. The person who worked there and was refilling the orange juice was filling it up with tap water which is super unsanitary and I was completely disgusted.

Absolutely terrible. Very very dirt, lots of drug activity by the staff, dealing out if the hotel is definitely happening. Blood stains on the bed, broken fixtures in the room, no phone in the room, no front desk staff just a note that will return in 10 minutes. The hotel was raided 2 times the first day we were there. Crack pipes left on the stairs. We had to chase down the house keeping cart to get towels. And was denied a refund because we didn't ask at the site even though there was no staff to ask. Waste of money at 300 plus per night. Just stay at motel 6 it's probably better quality then Sure Stay SC.

The bed was actually very comfortable. My husband and I only needed it for one night since repairs were being done on our house. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Laura recommended a place to eat within walking distance that was very good.

I stay at best westerns in different locations all over California almost every weekday of the year for my work and this hotel is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in ever. I expected a lot better from a best western company. To start we checked in at four pm and when we went to our room it hadn’t even been cleaned yet and it wasn’t cleaned for us until after 5. Rooms are disgusting, floors are filthy, sheets and blankets have burn holes in them no screens on windows, vending machines don’t work, one of my rooms door won’t even close you can push right in it and the security lock on that room is busted as well. I would never stay here again ever and would never recommend to stay here as a matter in fact I would recommend against it. Best western should divorce them selves with this establishment because it makes them look bad

Positive: The hotel was definitely better than what I expected once again as I stayed just last week and then the week before that. I still don't understand why they such bad ratings. I think maybe someone is sabotaging their online ratings somehow. Negative: No

Checked in after a 12-hour drive and was charged $259 (293 including tax) for this hellhole of a room. Apparently, they are doing some upgrades but instead of not putting guests in there until they're done, they're taking advantage of people wanting to stay in Santa Cruz on a Saturday night. Features of Room 111: grille on a/c bent, drapes not hung properly, filthy platform to bed, no washcloths and one very limp hand towel, floors that were stained and broken, graffiti on front of refrigerator, hair in the shower drain and dirty/moldy shower, and a COCKROACH!|We tried to get washcloths from the office but they closed and locked up after we checked in.|When we complained the next morning, we were asked if we wanted another room. I told her this was a "one and done" and we'd never stay there again, and to cancel the rest of our stay.|Can you imagine putting a guest who is staying a week in a room like this?
