I loved everything about this venue from the day I took a tour with Lillian! The owners are UNLIKE any other wedding venue. Other venues I felt rushed and would have had to only book certain days, be out at xx time, rush rush rush!! But this family is so genuine and the property is family owned, barn renovated for weddings! It was absolutely perfect, the lighting for photography was beautiful, the character of the place was beyond words. You can feel the love and hard work they have put into the venue and they made me feel so at ease with all the wedding crazies! Lillian was great to work with and so patient with all of my questions and many visits to help plan my wedding. She let us rent the space for the whole weekend with no additional cost so my family would have plenty of time for setup and breakdown. If I have a vow renewal, I will have it there again! Loved it so much and the guests had nothing but great things to say about it. Thank you to Lillian & Marjorie for an amazing wedding experience and opening your home to us.

Coming up on our 5 year wedding anniversary next month, and we still wouldn’t change a thing! We loved working with the team at Swann Lake, and they made wedding planning a seamless process! We had around 200 guests, and it never felt overcrowded, nor did any vendors have issues setting up for a larger crowd. Still adore our photos taken all over the property, especially the ones taken right after our ceremony down by the water. Still have guests asking us 5 years later how we found this place, or saying that they couldn’t believe it’s hidden right in the middle of town! Such a gem of a venue and team.

Swann Lake Stables is truly something special. Not only is it the most beautiful venue in Birmingham (in my opinion) but also the team that works there (Lilly and Kibbie) could not be more helpful. These two women worked so hard to ensure I had my dream wedding day.

The plan was to get married on the lawn but it ended up pouring rain on my wedding day, which I am actually thankful for because plan B (inside the barn) proved to be even more intimate and special. This venue is so convenient but when you’re there you feel like you are nestled in an intimate, secluded location. I am so happy we had our wedding at Swann Lake, it made the day so memorable and felt so fitting for two people that love the outdoors.

We’ve also attended many other events here and each time I’m on the property, I’m reminded just how special it is. The Swann Lake staff are great and are alway eager to ensure guests are having the best experience possible. Highly recommended!

This is a BEAUTIFUL venue and they are continuing to upgrade it even now! I never could have imagined finding such a beautiful, remote-feeling location so close to the city, but THIS IS IT. It made our weekend perfect and we got so many comments from guests on how beautiful the space was. Take advantage of the beautiful log-cabin stables, stone terrace and fireplace, and even the creek for amazing photos or a remote ceremony. The staff was great to work with, too, and everyone was so kind! You have flexibility with your vendors (Except for bartending) and even flexibility with how your day will look at this venue. The bridal suite is perfect for your getting ready needs (and there's an actual room for the groom not just a little closet!), and the inside space and upstairs balcony helped save our rainy day reception. We absolutely loved every single aspect of our day at SLS.

**Edit: The only exception to the above is the required alcohol vendor, but I understand this is a licensing issue and not necessarily a fault of SLS. I wish they had more options, but just be aware that the cost WILL add up and working with B&B can be frustrating if you are wanting alcohol at your wedding. I left the review at 5-stars because I understand this is not someting SLS can really control.

Lovely, rustic, venue! Went to a rehearsal dinner for my nephew here and its a relaxed and casual atmosphere.
Fair warning: its a bit hard to find (especially at night) - if you miss the turn into the driveway, the next turn around is at the bottom of the hill.
