The best wedding planning decision we made was selecting Swiss Acres as our wedding venue. It’s the most beautiful wedding venue in Iowa that fit our wedding theme and party perfectly. I will forever cherish everything Carly did to make our day run smoothly. From lending an extra hand to checking in throughout the day, she made our day so perfect. My favorite part about the venue is how much time we were able to spend at the venue. Friday afternoon set up, rehearsal supper, wedding day, and clean up on Sunday morning. It was so special to spend a weekend at Swiss Acres with our loved ones expanding our wedding beyond just one day. Highly recommend!!

This is such a special and amazing place to get married. Having the two barns, for ceremony and reception, was perfect. There is both a bridal and groom suite to get ready and hangout in. Both plenty big for wedding party and other venders to come in. The outdoor area is beautiful and so many amazing spots for photos. Aaron and Carly are amazing to work with and so helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend getting married here!

I couldn't ask for a more perfect venue for a wedding in the middle of nowhere than this place. definitely plan your wedding around agriculture because it's surrounded by it. so make sure it's not a time when they're spreading the manure. or harvesting anything. or spraying anything. it was magnificent when we were there.

I was a guest at a wedding here. It rained, which of course the venue can't help. However, the ceiling of the reception barn was leaking SIGNIFICANTLY in about 3 places. This is frankly not acceptable for the amount couples pay for the venue. It is because the corrugated panels of the roof are laid horizontally instead of vertically, causing the water to pool. Combine that with a lack of maintenance and it becomes a problem quickly.
And because the floors are polished concrete, the rain made for a very slippery entrance. Several people had to catch their balance and one groomsman even slipped and fell.

It definitely does have the rustic look a lot of couples find attractive, however there were some elements that were just plain unsightly, such as the visible foam insulation in the wedding barn and visible cords and wires run along the walls. In addition, the sidewalks could have used some better planning and maintenance. Since they were uneven, the rainwater pooled in several very inconvenient places, like in front of the doors of the reception venue.

It wasn't my wedding, and I didn't work with the venue at all to know how they were to work with, but I know I would not recommend this venue to a friend based on the wedding I attended here. (This is not a knock on the wedding itself, which was lovely. Just the venue.)

Swiss Acres is the perfect place for a variety of events!! We hosted an engagement party/shower there and it gave us the perfect rustic and classy feel we were going for!! The owners are very helpful and flexible!! Will definately use this venue again in the future!!😀😀

Swiss Acres is a beautiful venue near Okoboji. The rustic look of the barn is absolutely beautiful. The owners were wonderful to work with and very accommodating. I would 100% recommend Swiss Acres to anyone looking to host a wedding or any type of party!

Very nice location for a wedding. The wedding was in one building and the reception was in their other building. There was only one problem, the a/c was set too cold (66 degrees) for a May event. The seniors were all very uncomfortable.

Beautiful property with great buildings for an outdoor or indoor event. Small barn had fully functioning air conditioner and the big barn was an amazing backdrop for an outdoor wedding.
