Our Dungeons of Hope charity held our 2024 table-top fundraising event at the Battle Standard to raise money for a local homeless shelter. The staff did an incredible job and the food from the Scarred Bard Game and Grog was excellent. Every guest that I talked to had only great things to say about their experience at the Battle Standard. We are looking forward to coming back.

I think it’s important to check low scores of any business as they can tell you a lot about the people and inner workings.

I started off loving the new location in East Windsor. I met some great people and had a lot of fun playing the card game ā€œMagic The Gatheringā€ as well as making friends with neighboring games in the room.

Unfortunately, a lot of misunderstandings can happen which results in ignorant decisions. Especially when the ā€œStore Managerā€ gets involved and openly challenges your stance on a card game.

I believe this business will continue to do well regardless if ā€œStore Managerā€ continues to work there or not.

I will, unfortunately, have to take my business elsewhere. But I do plan on checking in when the ā€œStore Managerā€ keeps his opinions to himself and is FIRED.

Shoutout to mono white and black angel/knight decks, as well as MTG Arena.

No shoutouts to El Drazi decks. šŸ™

To the guy saying the 5 star reviews are fake,

You seem fake, this place is awesome!

Came to buy Tyranid model, called ahead. Wait time to get to register was long but so much to look at it didn’t matter. Guy at the counter was perfect. Amazing conversation, wasn’t annoying. Information was clear. 10/10 excited to come play!

Pros: Probably the coolest game store that I have been in in a very long time. Lots of gaming tables for games with miniatures - terrain to boot, TRRPGs, and CCGs. Restaurant on premises. Clean. Friendly staff.

Cons: None come to mind.

Battle Standard Table Top Games in East Windsor Connecticut, visited in July 2024.
I was driving by the other day driving through East Windsor. I consider and my friends consider me a geek when it comes to games and movie. I pale in comparison to the people I saw that day. I had never seen so many middle aged men of different sizes, ages and shapes all gathered together other than at a church. I wandered around and watched what they were doing. There were so many dice, so many cards, so many tool boxes so many people playing this and that. I saw Avengers, I saw Star Wars and many other things too. I saw people pull out rulers so many times. I saw people even attempt to respond to a controversy which had arisen about the location of someone on a burned out vehicle. Another guy jumped up, went over to adjudicate the situation. This was all caught on video as someone was there with really nice equipment filming the situation. Nobody in charge approached me, a strange man coming through staring at those who were there. I went through the store section and couldn't identify almost any of the games that were available. There was a back shelf with games I could recognize like Pandemic and Carcassonne but the Pandemic game available only worked with an expansion I didn't have and wasn't for sale. Plus none of the games had prices on them which to me meant this wasn't their bread and butter AND it was very expensive. Perhaps more than Barnes and Noble. This quickly made me feel very uncomfortable in a location like this. I guess someone like me would be easy to see and attend to. Somebody could approach me, ask if they could help and then be in my shoes, identify with the shocked possible future customer. I couldn't see myself ever going back, I couldn't see myself spending one penny in a place like this. But far be it for me to judge middle aged men for spending time at the gaming tables and not at a bar or strip club. Their wives were probably coming along with them! As I left, people were coming in. I could see this was a tradition. This was the place to be. I just didn't understand any of it and didn't appreciate it. But I loved the back meeting room with the mounted Dragon head! That was cool.

I've been a long time customer of TBS, going all the way back to its beginnings. I have always loved experiencing the atmosphere and ambitions of this business and its crew. The new location is beautifully executed and welcoming. Gamers of all kinds can and will have a home here. As far as product variation, I can say that as a mini-war gamer, The Battle Standard is your destination LGS (Local Game Store). Their selection of paint ranges and supported miniature games is astonishing, leaps and bounds above their competition. Board games on the shelf are a little left to be desired, but they can always order you what you want! All in all, if you consider yourself a table-top gamer, you are doing yourself a disservice by not making a pilgrimage to The Battle Standard.

I have been a patron for a few years and have visited the new store quite a few times already. Each time it’s an experience and the staff are always willing to help with whatever you need. Questions are encouraged and if you’re new to a game they are willing to sit down with you and teach you. Always have a great time visiting and it’s a great place to make new friends while bonding over mutual interests. They have amazing Meads that are a must try and plenty of snacks to keep the games going. Truly one of my favorite stores. I recommend it to everyone. The excellent customer service and overall atmosphere are just some of the bonuses you will find here.
