We had a celebration of life at The Century in October. Our event coordinator Erica Ford was Amazing!!! Everyone on staff that day for our event was phenomenal. Everyone on staff that day was so considerate and respectful, they took amazing care of the family and made the day a great memory even on the worse day. Everything from the presentation of the food and the taste of the food was amazing. The professionalism of the staff was top notch. I will definitely be using The Century again for anything up coming.

The Century is an extremely beautiful venue that even pictures can't do justice! Erica Ford at The Century made everything SO easy!! Her organization and attention to detail on top of anticipating my needs because she's just THAT good, was beyond expectations! She kept me sane, helped me make my menu a complete dream (I am the only vegan amongst meat eaters), and accommodated every one of my (last minute) changes! She genuinely cared about us and our dream wedding and did everything she could to make our dreams come true!
The chef, the banquet staff, the bar staff, security, everyone was so professional, on top of EVERYTHING, and made it so we had zero worries on our day. Our wedding day was a complete dream, and that's because of The Century and their amazing team of dedicated, professional, caring employees!
Speaking of which, Leticia from Hand Creations Floral, their in house florist, brought my visions to life and moved me to tears with her execution! She was so easy to work with, understood our needs and vision with very minimal direction (I knew what I wanted but didn't always know how to vocalize it), and executed beyond my wildest dreams! My bouquet, which were the only flowers I had other than boutonnieres and corsages, exceeded my wildest dreams! The attention to detail, her ability to capture everything I wanted represented, and the sheer beauty could not have been accomplished with anyone else.
I will sing the praises of The Century and their team from the rooftops! One of the best decisions we made for our wedding!

Had an amazing time at the Modesto, Ca Edgar Allen Poe Speakeasy Event! Cocktails and a show! Performers were amazing & went above and beyond to bring each story off the page and into real life! I’m 45 & my daughter is 25…we both commend the show & highly recommend it to anyone that will listen! Keep up the strong drinks, great service, amazing atmosphere & reasonable prices! I want to first acknowledge my wedding coordinator, Erica, as she was friendly and professional the entire process, even when I began to get frustrated by my experience.

I guess the whole wedding experience is a little romanticized but I still expected to feel happy and excited while planning my wedding, and even more so the day of. I live in Sacramento where venues are quite expensive, so when I stumbled upon the century, I couldn’t believe it was so affordable and full service! We toured the venue and loved it so much we put our deposit down the same day.

Fast forward to planning, and we find out it is not in fact full service as advertised on the website. There is no in house dj or baker. You also cannot get any decor you want, which is what Allison made it seem like. The choices were very limited for what is included, unless you want to pay extra for outside resources. The in house florist is so unprofessional and rude, and she will charge you an arm and a leg for subpar services. The chef is very nice but I don’t think catering for more than 40 people is his forte, as nearly none of our guests enjoyed their food. It wasn’t fresh or even warm, both proteins were undercooked, and everything was bland, aside from the goat cheese potatoes. We asked for salt and pepper shakers to be on every table and that was forgotten like a lot of other things.

Due to the lack of adequate staffing, my poor coordinator had to do the work of many coordinators trying to accommodate brides that had been abandoned by their coordinators, which I believed stretched her very thin, causing details we had discussed on more than one occasion to be forgotten. Such details include: they way my napkins were to be folded, the way my menus were to be placed, the two tables of important guests that were to be served, not made to go through the buffet line, the fact that my cake at 3 flavors not 1, the order in which the speeches and performance were to go, which decor was mine and which was theirs, and lastly, the announcement about my guest phone book (guests are to leave a message for the bride and groom on the phone at the entrance of the ballroom. Since no announcement was made in the beginning or close to the end, 12 of our 51 guests actually did it).

The thing that makes me pretty mad still, is that they ruined my wedding cake and then blamed one of my guests for it. I was told when she was given the cake while sitting in the car, she reached over for something and tipped the cake over. No one told me that happened and when I asked my guest, she said she did not tip the cake over but did realize it looked smashed when she looked in the box. There is way too much damage to the cake to have simply been tipped over. Upon opening the box, I saw the entire bottom was sunk in and cracked as if it had been dropped, and our cake topper was smashed into pieces buried in the cake. They also only cut a small portion of the bottom layer, and did not give the rest back. We received two top layers of cake, so where did the rest of the third layer go? On the floor perhaps?

I wouldn’t say don’t have your wedding here, but I would say definitely ask a lot of questions, write everything down, and most of all, don’t pick a venue based on saving money. All in, I could’ve just had my wedding locally.

The century is such a beautiful venue. They gave me such a stress free experience I would highly recommend. Tatiana was my wedding coordinator and handled everything perfectly for me. All the staff were amazing down to the kitchen staff who helped fix my wedding cake that was made by a different bakery. I had floral decor from their vendor Leticia and she executed my vision it was beautiful! I am so glad me and my husband decided to go with this venue every thing went perfect the day of and they were always so supportive of making sure I had a beautiful experience! I loved my experience with the century good vibes and very professional service. Thank you for making our day special and stress free we appreciate you Tatiana!!!!

This is an overdue review! We got married 03/25/23 and it was truly one of the happiest days of my life (now I know why people say that)!
First of, I am not a planner by any means, I’m a simple kind of girl. But Tatiana not only helped me along the way, but she ensured that the day of we were taken care of! She understood the assignment of an intimate and personal wedding and made my vision come alive BETTER than I ever expected!
The venue is absolutely gorgeous and has so much character already! If you are considering this location, I encourage you to attend an open house and really get a feel of what they have to offer! There is so much flexibility and wiggle room, you might get what want, plus a little extra!

was so stressed out. Dj and makeup artist canceled last minute. Hairstylist canceled the day before. A friend in charge of cake didn't get the cake. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. But my experience at the Century was the only thing that went right and was nothing short of amazing. The venue and setting was beautiful. Allison was such a great help with the decorating. The food was delicious.. had compliments all night. The chef was a lifesaver.. the day of he put together this store bought cake and made it gorgeous. The servers were very so nice and attentive. David the bartender kept it coming with the delicious cocktails. But the person I really would like to take the time to personally thank was Tatiana. Throughout this whole stressful process she was very reassuring and had us at ease. From planning to the day of event.. Tatiana made us very comfortable and was so patient with us. Communication was great. Tatiana constantly keep us updated and constantly texted and emailed us. If we needed to get ahold of her she was a text or phone call away. Because of her I would definitely book another event at The Century.
