We loved staying at The Connecticut River Valley Inn over Christmas 2024. We stayed for a week while visiting family who lives nearby. We loved the fireplace and the spray shower in our room, and the set up was perfect for 2 adults as our 3 year old. All of the little details and design choices made this inn very unique and comfortable. Wayne and Pat were also very friendly and wonderful.

I attended an artist workshop at the CRVI in September, and it was a wonderful venue. Pat, the Innkeeper, recruits wonderful artists and then attends to every detail to make the experience perfect. From the comfortable and charming rooms to the creative and tasty meals, the beautiful grounds, the studio space and the walk to everything location, it could not have been more enjoyable. The ten workshop attendees were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. With beautiful weather, we really enjoyed the outdoor space -- the gardens are beautiful, furniture comfortable and it was so peaceful! With a busy schedule (and all meals included) we didn't have time to explore the village center, but within a 5-minute walk there were dozens of restaurants, small stores, a great wine shop, a Starbucks and a Whole Foods market. There was also a nice park along the riverfront and an arts festival while we were there. I would highly recommend staying at the inn -- whether for a workshop, like I did, or just as a nice getaway in the lovely town of Glastonbury.

Attended a wedding here and the property was gorgeous. However, the owner, spoiled the evening. If you look at other reviews here youโ€™ll see this a common theme.

The owner was inserting herself in all the wrong places, from changing the seating+table setup that was preplanned from the bride to something that she thought was better because of her โ€œ35+ years of industry experience, (thank goodness the external day of coordinator caught this and rectified it prior to the ceremony starting), to setting up lights in the middle of cocktail hour on a ladder. As I said the property was beautiful but it would have been even better if they werenโ€™t mowing the lawn where the ceremony was taking place hours before it started. Just a friendly reminder, freshly mowed grass stains a white floor length dressโ€ฆ.

The owner got in several verbal fights with the day of coordinator throwing a fit that things were not being changed to her liking. At this venue everything has to be brought in (decor, food, wine ect) if she wants so much control maybe she should provide more in her wedding packages. Oh! I forgot they did provide linens. Stained linens for the tables.

Overall the evening was beautiful but with no thanks to the owner of the Connecticut River Valley Inn.

The artist retreat that I attended at CRVInn was outstanding. It was a wonderfully inspiring artist retreat. The inn thought of everything. My room was comfortable, clean and full of the inn keepers art! The intimate surroundings were such a great space to share wine, conversations and even create art. I attended by myself but will definitely return with my husband for a relaxing getaway.

If you've ever wanted the opportunity to do nothing but quilt while lovely people attend to your every need and prepare wonderful meals and snacks for you, Pat's Artists Rising Retreats are for you. Pat's historic Connecticut River Valley Inn has been lovingly restored and updated. The accommodations are splendid, spacious, and quiet. The gardens are amazing and the workshop space looks out over the grounds. The food is delicious. Pat and Teri are charming and accommodating. Every single thing is perfect.||Pat and her staff prepare three meals a day for attendees and the food was consistently wonderful. At my retreat, there was one vegetarian, one person gluten-free, one person dairy-free and one person who doesn't eat onions. Pat fed us all, kept it straight, and was good-natured about our group of fussy eaters. It was remarkable.||Sue Benner is one of the most admired, respected, and collected textile artists in the world. It turns out that she is also a smart, supportive, creative, adaptable, hard-working, generous, and level-headed teacher. Sue shared her techniques, creative processes, ideas, hacks, wisdom and humor for five days. we learned from watching her work as well as from her prepared materials and daily slide shows. I feel lucky for the opportunity to study with her. ||The Sue Benner workshop at Pat's Artists Rising retreats in Connecticut is a five-star event. I would go back in a heartbeat.

This is a beautiful inn, built in the 1740s, with wonderful grounds that lead to the Connecticut River. This is not your typical bed and breakfast or hotel. Each room has its own unique decor. The hosts and staff were lovely and so welcoming and went over and beyond what was expected. The meals were also lovely.
