This was a wonderful weekend experience. We stayed in The Well, which was a sweet hideaway downstairs. The room was clean and so peaceful. The food was amazing and a treat because each morning the table was beautifully set and with a yummy breakfast. The location was perfect because you could easily walk to the square and enjoy the town. We have lots of friends who enjoy day trips to Pella, but definitely sharing about the Dwelling Place so they can have a whole new beautiful experience.

Having never stayed in a B&B before, I really didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised! Doug & Beverly are the owners and were very kind, generous and accommodating. The home is historic, but updated with clean and modern features. Breakfasts were delicious and filling. Their home is only a few steps away from the downtown square. So park your car and enjoy the easy walks to anywhere. We are definitely coming back!

Bev and Doug are super great hosts! Very kind and caring. I stayed in the river room and loved every minute of the ambience and solitude of this wonderful place. I have to add the bedsheets were amazing as well as the towels! Neat and clean! I would definitely recommend the dwelling place to anyone who wants a quiet and spiritual setting!

We stayed at The Dwelling Place Bed & Breakfast in Pella when we came to see the tulips. The house was beautiful, our rooms were prefect, breakfast was yummy and it is located on Main Street just a block from downtown. But the best part of the stay was the hosts/owners Beverly & Doug, their story and love for Jesus!

I love Pella! My husband and I booked two nights and decided to add one more in this very comfortable bed and breakfast. We loved the location to Central Park and enjoyed walking to town and through Central College. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had all the amenities we would need. The home has an interesting history and is well-maintained. It has beautiful woodwork, and of course, Pella windows! |Bev is an accommodating hostess who took great care of us. We plan to return to The Dwelling Place with more family someday. If you like calm and comfort (and a great location) , this may be a perfect place for you to stay.

The outside of this place was so charming, brick very nice, the pathway had beautiful flowers. The location was perfect- we could walk everywhere we needed to go. We stayed in the Under His Wings - downstairs. The beds were extremely comfortable - slept wonderfully! We stayed 2 nights - our first breakfast was an individual quiche, bacon, pastry and fresh fruit. The next day we had eggs, sausage, blueberry pancakes. Both Doug and Bev are extremely friendly, and some of their stories brought tears to my eyes, and amazing couple. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.|Cindy Kofron

My adult daughter and I did a mother-daughter getaway about 2 weeks before the Tulip Festival. While the weather was really chilly, the tulips were spectacular! The bed and breakfast was located just a short walk from the town square, so we walked everywhere, enjoying the tulips, the coffee shops, the bakeries, and all the fun shops. The hosts were very gracious and accomodating and our breakfasts were delicious and filling! Saturday morning's breakfast included some pastries from the local bakery owned by her daughter--absolutely delicious!! I really enjoyed the restful atmosphere of their home. We stayed in the basement room with 2 beds and we enjoyed using the kitchen table for games and the living room area to sit and sip coffee with cozy blankets after being outside in the chilly air! She had a lot of extra blankets and plenty of plush towels. While our bathroom was not in our room, we did have it all to ourselves, since the other bedroom in the basement had their own bathroom as well. I would definitely stay here again!

The Dwelling Place was our stop for Pella Tulip Festival. It is located one block from the square. With 3 relatives we opted for the basement β€œUnder His Wings”. We also had a shared sitting room/kitchen/bathroom. Breakfast, as noted by others, was fantastic. All was clean, convenient and walkable. I will return again. Thanks Bev & Doug.
