The Federal Inn is truly a special place with a gifted and down-to-earth host. The thought that Innkeeper Kate puts into every aspect of the guest experience is evident, from the decor to the breakfast menu to the fresh-baked cookies waiting in your room. If you care about design aesthetics, fresh and nutritious dining, and enjoying the company of your traveling companion (vs. watching TV), you'll simply love it here. Only a few minutes' drive from downtown Toledo, but also within walking distance of downtown Maumee.

Could not have loved this Inn more. Booked for a one-night getaway with sister, and it was perfect. Walked to The Village Idiot for dinner, stopped at the candy store in the way, and stayed a couple of extra hours having great conversation with the other guests in the morning.

Food was delicious and the best service - would absolutely go again and recommend to anyone!

Federal Inn was delightful. It was clean and we loved learning the history of the home. Katie was very accommodating and kind. We enjoyed our conversation. Katie has done an excellent job of decorating the home. The breakfast was fabulous and Katie’s chocolate chip cookies are the best I have ever had. We loved the fact that we could walk downtown to eat dinner at the local restaurants. The town is quite charming as well. Flower gardens were all in bloom and beautiful. We will return!

This inn is an amazing gem. The innkeeper Katie has paid such thoughtful attention to detail that you feel right at home as soon as you walk into her welcoming space. Our room was clean and beautifully decorated, and the bed was cozy. We were treated with delicious treats, and enjoyed the coziness of the fire pit in the backyard before bed. We woke up to early morning coffee waiting for us, before going out for a morning walk along the river. Came back to an incredible gourmet breakfast that was a delight for the eyes + the palate. Book here. You won’t be sorry! Thank you for making our 25th anniversary so special!

What a gem!!! The attention to detail is astounding. Homemade cookie when you arrive are delicious !! It truly shows that the innkeeper loves what she is doing. I cannot say enough about Katie the innkeeper. She is lovely and makes you feel right at home. Extremely knowledgeable of the history on Maumee and the house. Great recommendations through my stay. Conveniently located to a cute little walkable town and minutes aways from other quant walkable towns. Highly recommend this B&B. I am already planning my next trip.

I stumbled upon the Federal Inn when my usual hotel in Perrysburg was unexpectedly booked for the night. Lucky for me!

6 stars for service. Katie, the innkeeper, is a delight. She is a warm and welcoming host, offers wonderful conversation, and cooks a marvelous breakfast to boot. The inn itself is charming and gorgeously furnished. I had to ask if she was an interior designer because each room has so much character. I loved listening to a record in the library while relaxing and getting some work done. I only wish I could have stayed longer and taken some time to better explore the surrounding area of historic Maumee.

BIG fan. 10/10 recommend. Will be back!

The Federal Inn is an exceptional find. In the post-COVID era, hotel stays have often been disappointing, which is why I’ve started gravitating towards locally owned hotels and B&Bs. This place exemplifies true hospitality. Every detail of the inn is thoughtfully decorated, and the rooms are clean and ideal for a short stay. Additionally, its location is conveniently close to the town's Main Street. I highly recommend staying here—you won't regret it.

A beautiful, peaceful, well designed inn. We hosted our small wedding party here and did hair and makeup on the first floor. Katie was exceptionally helpful, kind, supportive, and made us a brilliant breakfast that left us fully stuffed. Was a highlight of our wedding weekend to stay here and made our lives so easy! Not to mention so many great places for photos. Could not have been better!
