Our stay was amazing!! The hotel is perfectly situated in the downtown area and walking proximity to everything we wanted to do. Nicole at the front desk was hospitable, knowledgeable, and very professionally. She expedited our check out and ensured we had a great stay. We especially loved the appointments of the room. Our view of the park was excellent and the bathroom was amazing!

This hotel has a lot of potential, but how can you charge this much for a room with no window at all? We literally had a wall with a view of the inner lobby, no view of the outside or natural lighting at all. Also, the room was dusty, and there was a pair of someone elseโ€™s socks under the bed. Will definitely not be coming back.

We had quite a few issues while staying at this hotel. First of all, we paid for a king size bed and they gave us a queen, but when my husband checked in he didn't even notice that because the room was literally almost 90 degrees and the thermostat wouldn't change - so he went and complained to the front desk. When we came back late that night after a wedding, they supposedly had "fixed it" but we are pretty sure that just means they opened up the literal skylight in our room. Which we realized because ten minutes after I laid down it STARTED SNOWING ON ME. At this point it was 1230 and we were exhausted so I didn't want to call and complain and switch rooms. So my husband had to like parkour to the ceiling and close the shade part of the skylight which seemed to at least stop the snow from falling on to the bed. When we complained about all of these things in the morning, they gave me 20 percent off which is the only reason I am giving two stars instead of one.

Additionally there is a window that looks right out to lights and there's only a very sheer curtain that didn't really serve any purpose besides decorative - so it was extremely bright in the room all night AND the walls are paper thin so I fell asleep to one neighbor snoring and woke up to the other neighbors "celebrating" at 6AM. On top of all of this, parking was not included and was $40 a night for valet, and there is also no breakfast included. Even without all the additional issues, we did not find the hotel to be worth the price by any means. Despite the "boutique" vibes, I would highly recommend finding another hotel in the area if you need to stay downtown.

This is really just an overpriced hotel. No restaurant, no room service, the bar is closed 2 days a week, no bellhop. There was a valet attendant at the door that just watched me struggle to get the cart with my bags through the 2 sets of doors. When I checked in I was told that there would be a $100 fee for my dog, which I was not told when I called to book my room. Valet would have been another $40 had I opted for that. The $239 room ended up costing me $375 after taxes and surprise fees on check in. The shower drain was completely clogged. They put us in a room that required us to go up stairs, which obviously wont work with the cart that had several of our bags on it. They were nice enough to move us to another room after we back to the front desk but they really should have had the sense to not put us in that room to begin with. The free breakfast was dry cups of oatmeal on a fold up table.

They are trying to be a fancy hotel but they really aren't succeeding at anything other than charging fancy hotel prices.

Ok. So after reading all the other reviews I was concerned. But now I'm just concerned for the future. This hotel is awesome. A very nice hotel, valet, comfy large rooms, overly clean, good condition. Yes the walls/ceilings are on the thin side. It's an Old building. You don't hear talking but if someone is rolling their suitcase you can hear it. And it was literally in the middle of everything I needed to do, and there is so much around to eat and do. Would stay again

I stay in Hartford every week and have tried to stay here because I love the uniqueness of this hotel, but to be honest, the service is terrible. You never get your bill emailed even when you check out, half the time the reception and valet staff aren't around, and the elevators are constantly broken. Sometimes you just want a meal onsite but often the restaurant is closed for private events.

We booked a spacious room which was nice. It was facing an office building which constantly produced a loud humming noise. That was all ok, but we did not get room service for the first night - they simply forgot us.. and no compensation for the lack of service either. Overall: we most likely will not go there again. Room service is the minimal expectation for a relatively expensive 4 star hotel !
