The Rockfall Foundation is a critical part of our local community. I ran Bushy Hill Nature Center and it's day camps for more than 10 years. I currently run the Steward Outdoor Day School based out of Bushy Hill. The Rockfall Foundation has generously awarded us grants over the years in support of our efforts to connect children and their families to the environment through experiences and interactions both at camp and through our community outreach. Their support has helped us extend our reach beyond our local community and has helped us offer scholarships to campers and students throughout the CT River Valley area and beyond. We encourage others to get involved in all that the Rockfall Foundation does. They are a cornerstone of our community and an important resource for supporting environmental efforts and education. I am so grateful to them for all that they do to keep us moving forward and connecting us to one another through environmental initiatives. The Rockfall Foundation was great to work with! We were able to bring a worthwhile family engagement project to life. We educated families about the importance of pollinators and how to support them in our environment. Families came out and enjoyed time together and went home with plants, feeders and knowledge about how to help the environment. The feedback from families was excellent. Rockfall Foundation came out to take pictures and enthusiastically supported us the whole way!

We're so grateful to have an organization like Rockfall supporting our region! From generously helping other nonprofits meet their green goals to assisting broader community initiatives, they are truly committed to protecting our local environment. They also regularly host repair clinics which help people fix items rather than throw them out. The primary concern is keeping items out of landfills but it's also incredibly helpful for those whose items are irreplaceable - either for financial or sentimental reasons.

We held a work event at the deKoven House with a cross-department team meeting. The large community room was perfect for our needs. The staff assisted with set-up and our A/V needs, and the entire process was streamlined, friendly, and efficient. I hope to bring our team back to this space for future meetings or small events.

The Chester Fair and it's fairgoers have benefited greatly from the support of the Rockfall Foundation. With the funding provided, we purchased a fresh water dispenser that significanly reduced the purchase of single use plastic bottles at the fair, all while saving fairgoers the purchase cost of bottled water over our three day event.
Evidence of the usage of our 5 head dispenser where the lines formed to fill water bottles and the 3000+ cups (compostable) given away by the fair.
