I recently hosted my mom's special event at The Secret House of Ivy, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From start to finish, Karina and her team made the night truly magical. Karina's kindness and dedication were evident throughout the planning process, and her assistant Luisa was incredibly patient and helpful. The venue itself is stunning, and I received countless compliments from friends who attended the event. I wholeheartedly recommend The Secret House of Ivy to anyone looking for a memorable and stress-free event experience. I'm planning to host all of my future special events here. The Secret House of Ivy is the cutest little hidden gem in downtown Downey. I had my wedding here 3/29/2024 and I’m so happy we chose this venue. It’s the perfect place to have an intimate wedding (or other event), it fits up to 92ppl formally sitting down. The venue itself is already SO beautiful on its own you need minimal decor and the staff is very friendly! They worked with me to make sure everything was exactly how I wanted. Karina is the one in charge and she was such a pleasure to work with. She is so detail oriented! She made the whole experience feel like it was all on a personal level and like she cared about the details of our wedding which was the best part for me. It’s a rare thing to find for a venue owner to care that your event looks amazing and also runs smoothly from beginning to end and Karina did just that! She provided us with helpful advice and just made the overall process as seamless as possible! I definitely recommend this venue for ALL your events and if The Secret House of ivy is small to accommodate all of your family, no worries I would still recommend contacting Karina as she’s opening up 3 more venues in the city of Whittier and one of them is a secret garden as well! ☺️ Overall we had an amazing experience and the most beautiful memories here, everything felt so magical from start to finish but ESPECIALLY on our wedding night, it was my very own fairytale wedding. ? In just a few hours we will be celebrating my daughter’s Quinceañera and we are excited we found this beautiful hidden garden.
When I scheduled an appointment to view the venue we were contacted by Luisa, Karina’s assistant and answered many of my questions over the phone in regard to the venue. The treatment we received when we met in person made us feel welcomed and we no longer looked elsewhere. My husband daughter and I decided there and then this was the perfect place to celebrate such a special event.
Karina the owner is an amazing person and very friendly. Her expertise made the planning and coordinating of our event an easy process. She offered to add at no extra cost color lights at the entrance of the venue, how great is that! We feel extra special for that gesture of generosity.

The day after the quinceañera and we can't express enough how happy we are we chose The Secret house of Ivy. The attention and service we received from the time we arrived to when the event ended was extraordinary. From the staff, to the catering and the in house DJ Muzik Empire it was one of the best experiences we've had. Karina was on deck making sure everything was running smoothly.

So far the planning of a wedding at the Secret House of Ivy has been pretty smooth. The venue is pretty straight forward with their process and pricing.
They have been quick to answer all our questions and offer recommendations. The preferred vendors list they provided us has been very helpful. We've met their house DJ and their bartender. Both have a really great vibe. During our food tasting we really enjoyed the chicken that was served, which is what we have decided to have for our reception dinner.

As for the venue itself, I feel it is the perfect venue for our intimate wedding ceremony and reception. We wanted something small, yet magical, The Secret House of Ivy checked all the boxes for us. I like that we really don't have to do much decoration because the venue is already so beautiful.

I stumbled across the secret house of Ivy through an instagram post. I immediately fell in love with the venue and I knew that was the place I wanted to marry the man of my dreams. We met with Luisa and Karina they are both very kind and reply to emails in a timely manner. We were also able to work with a few preferred vendors. I had to leave a review to this hidden Gem! I was looking for a garden outdoor venue to celebrate my 30th birthday and came across this beautiful venue! Karina & her staff have made the process of planning my birthday easy and exciting! I also used their catering services and the food did not disappoint, it is very delicious! I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone hosting a big event or even intimate!

This place is beautiful and enchanting! When you are fully inside you feel like you are in another world and another time. Hopelessly romantic and intimate. Perfect venue for a wedding. The owner, Karina Veliz is amazing! She was very accommodating at my daughter's wedding. Seriously the best place ever!

It’s not every day you get married in our case but the options are endless at Secret House of Ivy whether you’re looking to host a birthday party, baby shower or really anything. Karina and her team do it all, she really takes the time to listen to your ideas. I love her personality and how she made us feel like not just another booking for them but actual people getting married for the first time. It can be very overwhelming and intimidating but Karina and her team really help you out in so much ! The Secret House of Ivy is your perfect venue for an intimate gathering. I fell in love with all the videos and pictures of this place. It’s beautiful just the way it is and it doesn’t need much decorating. Definitely check this place out the pictures and videos don’t give this place enough justice as seeing it in person, you’ll fall even more in love !
