My husband and I were moving long distance and were running behind schedule, so we booked a room last minute and stayed here overnight. It was not fancy, but it was a good price and seemed clean, and the staff were lovely. We were able to park our U-haul trailer in the parking lot with no problems. We walked to Mass and to a cafe the next morning before heading on our way!

I was originally planning to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Salem. But then I found this place online for a better price. I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised! Upon arrival, the staff was extremely welcoming and pleasant. The building interior was both vintage but at the same time well-maintained. I enjoyed a quiet and comfortable stay. I plant to stay here again the next time that I am in Salem!

This was a great motel, but it was too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer. No adjustment in the rooms.

The building is old. You can see the wear and tear in some places, particulary the carpet. But, when we were there, the upstairs was closed off for remodeling, so you know that the owners are making an effort to make improvements.|We were there for a surprise birthday party for my wife. The staff was amazing and did their best to make sure everything went smoothly.|The rooms are very sound-proof. Granted, we stayed in the King Suite which has a living room to buffer hallway sounds from the bedroom...PLUS, I am slightly hard of hearing. But still, we did not hear noises from adjacent rooms like you do in some other hotels (and believe me, our family can be a rowdy bunch). Also, the beds were a lot better than some hotels. I usually wake up in a hotel slumped over from back pain, but not in this one...it has a quite comfortable bed. The TV in the room must have had at least 50 sports channels on it, which may appeal to some people but not to me. But then, we weren't there to watch TV. But when we did watch TV, I found the SYFY channel, so I was happy. There is an atrium with couches and tables and chairs in the middle of the hotel, where you can enjoy coffee and pastries provided by the hotel in the morning. The hotel itself is centrally located to the downtown area (I am handicapped and even I was able to walk down there) and there is a very fun arcade right next door to it.|I would definitely recommend this hotel for your next stay in the Salem, Ohio area.

Stay away from this Hotel! They had a glitch in there system when booking and reservation was made on the wrong date. We never checked in and they still charged us. We contacted them several times to rebook on the proper date and they offered 0 restitution, absolutely no customer satisfaction at this location. We travel a lot and never ran into a situation the an establishment offered no help at all and just kept our money. We have rebooked with a national chain and they were more understanding than the Stable Inn and offered us a discount.

stayed two nights here. Overall a good place to stay if going through OH and need a place to stay close to the OH/PA border.
The town is old/quaint. Lots of shops/restaurants near the hotel.
The only place we ate at was Quaker Steak, which is super convenient being on the first level of the building.
Pros:
Off the main thoroughfare going through OH
Clean
Great ice machine
Lot's of eating choices nearby
Convenient parking
The A/C and heater are not built into the wall like other other hotels.
Decent grab/go breakfast

Cons:
Walls are on the thin side so if you have loud neighbors, you'll hear them
A small table would be nice

Would stay again if coming through the area

Went there, the young kid at the front desk double charged for my room. Told me they "weren't allowed" to do refunds (hotel policy), had to wait 2 days for the manager to come in, only to be told "we smoked" in our room. Claimed they "had pictures" sure some stock photos. Wouldn't refund the money for their mistake, then had the balls to charge additional for the cleaning. Buildings old, only stayed there in a pinch. Rooms are tiny, and hot and there's a bed, chair, and desk. No where to sit, and walls are paper thin. Save your time and money

The website claims "your comfort is our priority." We were there during a very warm stretch of weather in April. The temperature in our room was 79 degrees. The A/C didn't seem to be working, and when I inquired at the front desk I was told they don't switch the boiler from heat to A/C until the summer. All they would offer was a fan for the room. And they seemed a bit upset that they had to do that. Customer service is zero. The temperature never got below 76 degrees. No windows in the rooms, either. The "homemade pastries" for breakfast were packaged muffins. Don't waste your time or money on this place.
