SUP / Camping Adventure on the Altamaha River started out camping in tents, yurts, a pull behind camper and rented at RV for the weekend. This place is a hidden gem in South Georgia. The prices are amazing low and the park is cleaner than so many we have stayed in. I highly recommend this place and we will for sure be back soon to float the river and eat at Benton's Lees Steak House just 8 miles down stream with a minimum float time of 2.5 hours with the water levels at 78 feet.

This is a lovely place, I’m reluctant to review it because I feel like it’s my own little hide-out. Absolutely beautiful and quiet. Can’t wait to go back.

Full transparency - my wife and I are hosts at Towns Bluff Park and Heritage Center. We're full time RVers and Towns Bluff is a park we will visit again.
It's a quiet peaceful park with a great boat ramp on the Altamaha River. 25 large pull through sites with various hook ups in a tall pine forest plus a primitive area both with bath houses and hot showers. Certainly no hunting in the park but many hunters use the campground as a base camp during deer season.
Heritage Center is a well done project by local historians. Lots of local items and information about the area, river and past inhabitants. Talks and tours in the summer.
Come for an afternoon or a week, you won't be disappointed.

We love the campground. Went out on boat daily. Only issue was wk prior to Memorial Day they started banging on our door 2 1/2 hrs prior to ck out to run us out because the next campers were early. Didnt even get to fix our breakfast. Packed fast. There is a ckbout

My husband and I (Pa and Mimi) stayed in a Yurt December 24-29, 2023. Our granddaughter, her husband and 3 young children are staying there in their fifth wheel camper because of his job.
Also, our son and daughter-in-law were in the other yurt. It was great fun being together for Christmas. The yurts are definitely bare bones, albeit with beds and a small table and chairs. A mini fridge and a microwave would been very nice. We brought our own bedding and a heater

This was our first visit. If your looking for a quiet escape this is a great choice. We needed something last minute because everything within 3 hours was booked. A friend suggested Towns Bluff and I'm glad he did. The prices were great, the staff was super friendly, the comfort station was clean and updated and the sites are well spaced. Sites have 50/30/20 amp service with water but no sewer and the are fairly level.
The only down side was the debris on the sites and the standing water after it rained. To be honest, some spots looked like they stay wet.
If you are looking for a place to relax and get away or just a quick overnight stay, this is the place for you in the area. We will definitely come back.
