Out of service, and without a bother. Wonderful retreat to disconnect with heated cabins, clean beds and pup friendly! We stayed in the 11’s and it was absolutely gorgeous. Kind and courteous staff. Breakfast was delish and dinners fantastic. (We were out hiking for lunch). Loved the lodge setting for happy hours too. Happy people everywhere enjoying the INCREDIBLE scenery. We rented a V boat for the day and got sunshine on Trapper Lake. Overall highly recommend for a great getaway. Probably one of the best hidden gems in Colorado.

I really don’t know where to begin. This place was wonderful and I can’t wait to visit this little slice of heaven again. It lived up to every expectation I had and then some.

The cabin was super cozy, the lodge had great food, and the people that work to make this establishment what it is, are rockstars. We also did a guided horseback ride up to Big Fish and had a blast. Susan, our guide, was awesome! And despot it raining most of the time we were up there but we still had a wonderful time and made the best of it.

Do your research, people! Make sure you read their website and look at pictures of the area. When they say rustic and remote, they mean it! It was exactly what I was expecting and looking forward to.

The cabins do not have running water, but there is a bathhouse with hot showers. The power is cut at about 8:30/9pm and come back on in the early morning. No biggie, just bring headlamps and lanterns, just as you would camping. You can’t see Trappers Lake from the lodge because it’s up a hill, but the views of the area are still stunning and the lake is only about a 10 minute walk away. If you want to do any paddling, lightweight watercraft will be your friend. But they also have vessel rentals that you won’t have to carry up.

Yes there was a fire long ago, and yes there are a lot of downed trees, but the area is still beautiful and allows you to see landscapes you wouldn’t normally be able to see with it being forested. And the wildflowers were abundant! If you want trees, there are lots of hiking options close by in the surrounding area.

A great place for breakfast and dinner! Helpful, kind staff, and good food! The restaurant service staff need more training, however. Despite being a sitdown restaurant, we had to get our own silverware at breakfast and dinner, refill our own water, and bus our own plates between dinner courses. So, manage your expectations and you'll have a great meal.

Great accommodations, great staff, and great location. Head to Trappers Lake Lodge to unwind and unplug. Don't hesitate to try the cinnamon roll; it'll make you want more!

Clean cabins and great food at the Lodge. Menu is limited (which is to be expected with such a remote location) but can get somewhat repetitive if you are staying a few nights and do not want a hamburger each night. Would have been nice to have a "special" or at least one chicken option. Super breakfast! There was added variety each day - which was great. Be aware that while this is in designated wilderness, there was a devastating fire in 2002, the area is still in recovery. So there is not the abundance of forest that one might expect. Still a beautiful place however!

Out of the way, but an absolute chef and baker at the wheel. Trapper's has come a long ways rehabilitating after bad ownership and a tragic fire almost 20 yeara ago. The new owners have changed the atmosphere of lodging. but jept the seclusion. The drive is worth the meal!!! Don't forget to save room for dessert.

We ate at the lodge, and we've been there three times this summer! The burgers are amazing and the staff are super friendly. If you don't like sweet cocktails, don't get the margarita. You cannot beat the location. The Flattops are just breathtaking!

We had a great 2 night stay. The rooms were very clean. It is an older facility so if you're expecting high end luxury. This isn't the place for you. If you do want friendly owners and staff, lovely scenery, beautiful walks by the lake, wonderful food (best Mac and cheese I've ever had and outstanding margaritas, this is the place for you |We took a 1/2 day ride to Skinny Fish Lake, and the guides were great, the horses sure footed, and the fields of wildflowers just breathtaking. We crossed small streams about 16 times, and the horses didn't hop over then or get nervous. We would definitely do it again.|Noise was never a problem |Thank you Trappers Lake folks.
