Nice state park. I went for the nature trail. There are two trails to choose from...the Sassafrass Loop Trail and the Muscadine Trail (the short loop). I did the Sassafrass, which was a little challenging. It is a 4-mile loop with elevations throughout the trail. But it is an interesting hike. I even saw some deer. Park has a beach area (for nicer weather), tennis court, playground, picnic tables, and grills. There is plenty to do if you want to make a day of it.

A lovely cottage. Spacious. Clean. Cozy. The only reason I didn’t give this a five star review is because I found the mattress to be uncomfortable. Nevertheless, would recommend. Will come again.

Great little park. We stayed in a yurt which was a great compromise between roughing it and being comfortable. Kids loved it. Very friendly staff. Tiny bit of road noise but not terrible. We’ll be back.

Good place and cute lake. Also you can swim but your own safety. Attention For walkers! Lots of spiders and nets between the trees in the woods.

Excellent park and trails. There are some confusing places along the trail markers, but not bad. Lots of downed trees but steps have been taken to clear the trails. We had a great time with our two dogs while my parents had our kiddo at the playground. Lots of fun.

AMAZING! We rented cottage 3 in August 24. The cottage was the cleanest place I have ever stayed in. They had everything you need for your trip. You have access to the water. It's about 150 feet down a slight incline. The cabin provides a picnic table, fire pit. We loved the back porch and it was screened in with fans. We will definitely be back. Next time we would rent a golf cart because it is a little distance for the playgrounds, nature hut, other beach etc. Also we would recommend bringing bikes or scooters.

The hiking was amazing. We had beautiful weather and it was dog time. We enjoyed the trip out to South Carolina and enjoyed the beautiful Lake Hartwell. The park offer a lot of lake activities, camping, has picknick tables, cabins, and is just an amazing location to relax. We need to come back later this year when fall hits the area.
