Really enjoyed our Grant park food and history tour with tour guide Courtney! I have lived in Atlanta for 34 years and didn’t even realize how much I didn’t know about the city’s history. The tour was well paced, the food samples were perfectly portioned, and the guide was knowledgeable and engaging!

I already recommended this tour to several friends. Kristy was a great guide. Our group learned a lot about the history of Atlanta, the Curb Market, and the food. The food was amazing. Our group included people from Hungary, France, Australia, China, California, and North Carolina. The person from North Carolina, who has lived in the South his entire life, said the METRO DELI SOUL FOOD has the best-fried chicken he has ever had. The team all loved the meat pies at PANBURY’S DOUBLE CRUST PIES.
We had so much fun doing our biscuit-baking class and they were delicious.
I highly recommend the Unexpected Atlanta Historic Market Food Tour and Biscuit Class.

I recently participated in the Martin Luther King Jr. History Walking Tour with Unexpected Atlanta, and it was an outstanding experience. Our tour guide, Kristin S., was phenomenal. Her knowledge was impressive, and her passion for the subject was truly inspiring. You could tell she genuinely enjoys what she does. This tour was an incredible learning experience, providing information and insights that aren't typically taught in schools.

As a public health practitioner currently completing my Policy Fellowship in Atlanta, I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of the struggles and triumphs of African American leaders. In my work with government officials to increase accessibility and advocate for communities, this tour gave me valuable context on the resilience and dedication required to fight for justice and equality. My dad and I took the MLK Jr Walking Tour yesterday with Zoe as our guide and thoroughly enjoyed it! I live here in Atlanta, but know so little of its history and wanted to take this tour to learn more about MLK. I learned so much from Zoe and grew appreciative of Atlanta and its place in history for civil rights.

I just took a tour with my parents and it was fantastic! Jessica our guide was amazing and such an engaging and knowledgeable storyteller. The sticker map was really cute as well. The tour was an amazing way to learn about the area and the people who shaped it (and American history) in just a few hours. Highly recommend! As my mom said to Jessica, "You made a cold day feel warm".

We LOVED our food tour of the Sweet Auburn (Municipal) Market! Nic, our guide, was not only an exemplary educator, but also he made the entire experience extra enjoyable.
This 100-year-old Market has launched some of the city’s most popular food entrepreneurs while also serving as a weekly market for thousands of local residents.
Highly recommend this tour for anyone age six and up!

We had the most amazing time on the biscuit-making tour with our guide Glenn! I had no idea what to expect when we entered Municipal Market, but the tour was absolutely wonderful. We learned about the history of the market, got to eat great food from some of the great local stands, and our biscuits were so yummy. It was such a fun and interactive way to learn about Atlanta, its history, and the people who make up its culture.
