I cannot express how perfect of a night we had at my wedding! BeNita went over and beyond helping us throughout the night & because of her, everything tied together wonderfully! I will definitely be booking her again for future events for our family! My parents were soooo thankful and loved her so much! I’m glad I took a chance with her and her team! If I could give her 1000000 stars, I would! I should’ve hired her for the wedding planning as well, it would’ve been so helpful, but now I know for my daughters weddings, and I will always recommend her business to everyone I know! She made my night perfect! The food was absolutely amazing’ we had plenty left over and we ate it for a couple days afterwards. We had baked chicken, green beans, red skin potatoes, rolls, salad, mostaccioli, and lemonade with our package.

I booked Universal Events Catering for my engagement party of approximately 50 people and let me just say the experience was unlike any other! BeNita arrived early to set up trays and food and ensure that everything would be hot, ready and aesthetically pleasing to my guests upon arrival! Once it was time to enjoy ourselves with our meal, EVERYONE raved about how amazing the food was! I was so grateful to have chosen a company that was so professional and courteous, but more importantly made some outstanding food! I will most definitely be using them again in the future!

Ms. Benita’s food was delicious. She prepared everything I requested and more. Her bartender service was on point and I concur with many of the compliments.

However, I paid for full catering service and I feel she was understaffed for my event of 65-70 people for the following reasons:

1) It was 80 plus degrees and sunny outside and several tables were not supplied with pitchers of cold water until asked by myself or guests. Also, empty water pitchers were not replenished throughout the event.

2) Program instructions for the champagne toast, which was a special moment during the birthday event, were not adequately followed: The staff were to place a bottle of champs on the center of each table inside a wine freezer bag and ice bucket, when time, pour 6 oz of champs into each guests glass and the leftover bottles of content placed back on tables for guests to replenish their own glass. No bottles were placed on tables. The guests only received approximately 1 ounce of champs or non-alcoholic sparkling juice in their flutes and no refills furnished because the bottles were taken back to the kitchen.
It appeared as if I rationed champagne. At the end of the night, I discovered hundreds of dollars of full open bottles of Veuve Cliquot and Chandon on the kitchen counters in addition to uncorked bottles of champagne. My guests and I surmised staff were not skilled in pouring champagne at an upscale event.

3) I was later informed that the staff did not remove dirty plates from the tables 1-1.5 hours after guests had finished their meals. The dirty plates stayed on the tables for hours until the end of the night when removed by my guests.

Overall, Ms. Benita is a pleasant person. I enjoyed planning my event’s menu with her. Thus, once she corrects the previously mentioned expensive mishaps in the future, she will have a great full-service catering business.
