I needed to get my Part 107 Certification for work and scheduled my exam in advance of studying to motivate me. I wasn't having as much luck self-studying online this completely new material and decided an in-person class would suit me better. Long story short, I flew from Texas to Ohio, on a whim, to take this class over the weekend. It was an amazing class and quelled so much of my anxiety around taking this test. Jason is incredibly kind and is a FANTASTIC instructor. His passion, dedication to his students, and knowledge is top tier. Plus it's a very well-priced course for what you learn. In conclusion, I ended up leaving back to Texas very early Monday AM after the course. I studied in the airport and on my flights to take my exam at 2:30 pm that afternoon. And I passed! In 3 days, I became certified from his teachings. Please don't follow my lead or exact plan, but this is just some context if you were wondering the worth of this course. The answer is learning from him is 100% worth your time and investment.

Be prepared to learn a lot if you take the FAA Part 107 exam preparation course. Jason knows and uses this material as a commercial drone operator and has been teaching this course long enough to know which topics trip people up. The interaction between instructor and student is what separates this class from online classes.

I had been wanting to take the Part 107 exam for quite some time. I’ll be the first to admit I super suck at self-study. Found V1DroneMedia’s 2-day weekend course which fit perfectly with my busy weekday schedule. Even though the class was in Ohio, and I live in Michigan I took a chance and am glad I did. I gotta say—this class was legit. Totally worth the drive and the cost. When I took the 107 exam, two weeks after the class, I felt prepared and apparently was. I passed with a 95% and didn’t even need a stress nap afterwards!

Jason, the instructor, was top-notch. I could tell right away he knew his stuff with an awesome mix of deep aviation knowledge, real-world drone experience, laid back attitude, and just enough humor to keep us engaged through even the nerdiest FAA airspace talk.

The class was well-structured, breaking down complex topics into bite-sized, digestible pieces including just the things you need to know without any extra fluff. Jason explained complex topics like sectional charts, weather reports, and airspace restrictions in a way that made everything finally click.

V1DroneMedia didn’t just prep me for the test—they prepped me to actually be a safe, knowledgeable commercial drone pilot. I genuinely feel ready to fly, navigate airspace, and not end up on the evening news for doing something dumb.

I had to get my FAA Part 107 as a requirement for my job in public safety. Jason was my primary instructor at Cuyahoga Community College for the core content that covered the requirements for my certification process with the FAA.
