A few friends had talked up The Villager as being a favorite local spot. While the restaurant itself is beautifully situated with surrounding shops and lovely outdoor seating, I found the food left a lot to be desired.

A friend and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. From my understanding, the restaurant is family-owned. All of the servers were quick and attentive, so I can’t say anything negative in regards to the care we received.

I ordered a Pastrami on Rye with a Side of Fries and a Coke. Given the restaurant’s hype, I just wasn’t impressed. The quality seemed to be there, but my sandwich was bland—the pastrami was under-seasoned and lacked any depth. The French fries were your average diner style, and lacked salt.

From other reviews, I’m wondering if I simply ordered the wrong thing. I’m hoping to go back again and perhaps, give their breakfast menu a try. I’m hoping my experience was simply subjective and not a testament to the restaurant as a whole.

Nice place in the middle of a bustling small town Main Street. Decided to stop by after a trip to Kent Falls State Park. There wasn't much available on street parking nearby but found a spot just a short walk away. We were seated immediately, service was quick and attentive. Lots of choices on the menu so finding something for everyone shouldn't be an issue. Food came quickly and was good value. Love the area, never been to that part of the state.

My favorite restaurant in the area was unexpectedly closed on Mother’s Day, so we popped into Villager.

Food: delicious (I had the Alaskan Benedict and the egg was poached to perfection)
Staff: friendly & personable
Service: quick!

Note: If it’s busy in there, it is a bit loud.

This is not your average run-of-the-mill bland and inoffensive middle-american food that is heavy on the butter and salt but not much on unique flavors. The menu features many of your Standard Diner Staples but also an amazing and flavorful array of Mexican food and other unique dishes. Definitely one of our favorite stops for a fast sit-down meal

Only problem I had was find good parking space. We will be there again for delicious food. Just been there second time and food was delicious and serve as always very good.

Great food. We had Fish Tacos and Shrimp Tacos. I don't remember eating such delicious food in a while. Portion sizes are large. Complete value for money. Everyone managing the restaurant was cheerful and welcoming. I would visit again.

Perfect finale to a great hike in the region.

Great breakfast. Has the feeling of a small downtown NY or NJ diner but better in almost every way. Great service. Food was fast to the table. Almost too fast!
