For such a small staff they sure get a lot done! It really seems like this is more than a job from my perspective. They love this community and it shows! I see Ann and the other ladies at events to support local businesses on the weekends and late at night. We all know they don’t have to be there but they always show up. When they come to my store they make sure we have everything we need from them. Pella is a safe community to visit with plenty to keep you busy but if you can…stay for a few extra days and get to know the locals. Stop in the meet Ann & Bailey. You won’t regret a visit to Pella.

I went in there to ask about two specific things we wanted to see since we were just there for the afternoon. The lady at the desk didn't want to talk about what I wanted to talk about. She kept directing me to a paid attraction, which she kept mentioning was only $10 per person at a flour mill or some such thing. Then, she wanted to talk about a tulip festival that happens in May when the present date was July. We are not from the area so I honestly didn't care about something 10 months on the future, plus I had a car load of a family waiting for me. I tried 2 or 3 times to get the information I wanted from her... she wasn't budging off her agenda and never would help me. It was just weird that she would ignore what I wanted to talk about. It felt like talking to a salesperson as she kept pitching that $10 tour. Before I left, I had to nearly rip a map from her hands as it appeared she did not want to give me one. The entire interaction was just bizarre.

Basically, it's a single, empty room with brochures. And rude greetings from the Iowan Karen who runs it.
