A welcoming and convenient Central San Rafael activity center for Seniors for only a $25 yearly membership . A great place to work either alone or with others on the current jigsaw puzzle that is always accessible. Readers should check the ever changing book sale area where hardcovers go for $2 and paperbacks are $1 . The connected JACKSON CAFE is a good deal for lunch and open to public . They also put on special holiday meals throughout the year . CALL for cafe hours and menu of the day. The scheduled monthly activity program is plentiful and access to information on community services is helpful . For those who still drive there's a Whistlestop corner parking lot just across the street from the main entrance.
VIVALON also host a Food Bank for seniors every Friday except holidays . CALL for details and how to sign up. Great volunteers to assist with drive up bag , outside line bag pickup or indoor choices .

So this is where old hippies go to eat in Marin. Reasonable lunch prices with portions big enough to feed you at home. A variety of meal options including vegetarian. Pay a little extra for a gourmet dessert. This joint even has great coffee!

I posted a review earlier today and mistakenly referred to Amy as the kitchen supervisor. That was incorrect: The supervisor is Amber. Amy is her assistant.

It's a sad thing to see the biggest n prettiest railroad station turned into an old age pitstop...I can only hope that as soon as money is available that San Rafael can get it's own unique n historic train station back from these folks intent into turning it into some old age club....it's so sad...it's the biggest n best of all train stations ..it's historic n should be back into the hands of the railroad...it's disgraceful that it's historic n colorful career is now turned into Shady Pines...let's get this gem back into our historic past n renovated as many other towns have done w their train stations...it's a disgrace that the biggest town in Marin can't get it's act together n get this gem of architecture back into it's railroad fold....let's put this station back into railroad history before they damage it anymore .....we can do it n believe it eventually will buy it back!!!
