We stayed in a small cabin that sat right next to the creek. Loved hearing the running water and watching the birds in the morning. Luckily, there were only two of us, but the reservation said the cabin sleeps five. There were bunk beds, a queen, and a futon type thing in the living room. The place was small, and if we'd even had one more person with us, it would have been near impossible. On the good side, the kitchen was well equipped, and everything appeared clean though worn and dated. They gave us a goodie bag when we arrived, which contained fish food and ingredients for a small smore each. That was a sweet touch. There was a small fish project, where they're raising trout, and it was fun feeding them! One small one was so excited about being fed it jumped completely out of its pen. The place had a charm about it and we'd stay there again because we loved the proximity to the creek, but it wouldn't be for everyone. |

We stayed overnight on our journey from Sonora to Yosemite. We stayed in the 2 bedroom ground floor apartment. Very clean!
Only 2 downsides (but lodge not to blaim for this) :
Previous guest used fireplace and burnt wood smell lingered in room. Also front bedroom was unexpected noisy due to heavy travel on road.
We would stay here again!

Old school charm would be my way to describe this motel. This was not my first stay and the Walker River Lodge is my go to when staying in Bridgeport.

I feel bad giving this place such a poor review because the lady was so nice and the amenities had potential to be good, but it’s marred by the most basic thing: the room. The room was really dusty and I couldn’t originally get into my first room (which isn’t necessarily their fault, stuff happens) so I was reassigned. The room had beautiful views in the morning so overall I’d consider coming back but once again the room was so dusty it’s unlikely.

I'd been past this place hundreds of times over the past 40+ years but we never had a need to stay overnight in Bridgeport. Not a bad place at all! No complaints with the room. Neither of us used the shower so I can't say anything about water pressure, towles, etc. TV was small but had a great selection and worked fine. Room was small and a bit tight with 2 adults but not bad. The room was clean and seemed fine. We wanted to check in early but the office was closed and nobody is there until after 2 pm. Employee's parked in the front of our room in their Honda Ridgeline but left so we moved our car there....quickly. A pair of Harley's took up too much space (as a rider myself, I wish people would consider others more). Quiet at night after 10 pm. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Oh yeah......GREAT location near The Barn (best food in town).

The cabin style room was clean and cozy with all the amenities and you can park the car right in front of your room like a Motel. When we stayed it was all covered in snow and there were mesmerizing views from the porch at the back. The only drawback was the noisy AC, but with the cozy room, that did not bother me. The lodge is very close to the local eateries and some stores.

We stayed here for two nights with our dog while we played at Twin Lakes. We really loved how dog friendly they are, and they don’t charge a crazy fee like other places do. The room was clean and cozy, cabin style with all the amenities. The AC was very loud but did the job. Thank god they have grills there because Bridgeport is lights out by 7. There are still a few dining options open later, but expect to pay $$$ to eat mediocre food. Our second night there we grilled bacon wrapped hotdogs while getting attacked by man eating mosquitos. Obviously the mosquitoes are not their problem, but be warned, this place is by water. The pool and jacuzzi were small and old, but very clean. ||There were only a few small things we weren’t crazy about. The lock on the door when you leave is just on the door handle, you can only deadbolt it while inside. It was very un-sturdy and anyone trying hard enough could break it open. We also didn’t like that the deadbolt says “vacant” when it’s unlocked. This is the reason we believe staff came into our room one day when we left the AC on while gone for a few hours, it was turned off when we came back. We asked the front desk for an extra pillow and were basically told “what you see is what you get” and they don’t have extras. Lastly, some local kids swarmed the pool on the last night and basically forced us to leave.||Besides those hiccups, it was still a very lovely stay and we would stay there again.

Alright so don't book a room expecting the four seasons. Don't even expect everything to be in perfect working condition. Book a room for the charm, the imperfections, the wood burning stove, the beautiful view behind the lodge. It's quaint. It's cozy. It's a lodge and we loved it.
