My family and I dined here at the end of December and had a wonderful meal - not only was the quality of the food excellent, but the menu was well-rounded and easy to navigate with dietary restrictions. Owner James O'Shea and his staff were friendly and welcoming and take a great deal of pride in their establishment and ensuring a high-quality dining experience. Special thanks to James for his insights into the restaurant industry and for treating us to an incredible plant-based Chocolate Mousse!

This is by far our favorite restaurant anywhere! The food is spectacular, the staff (especially Ryan) is professional and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable. Details - peasant bread is quite possibly the most delicious umami bite available at any restaurant and sadly the owner (James) won’t give us the recipe; the chicken sandwich, which sounds simple, is so good I order it almost every time I go; and the various pasta dishes never fail to amaze. Cocktails are wonderful and wine list extensive. If you still have room for dessert there are many options including notable surprising vegan options. Don’t miss this place!

Went on Friday night and enjoyed an amazing dinner. One of the friends with us is Vegan and it was so nice to have vegan options for her as well. Service was fantastic, never waited on anything. A special touch is the owner visits each table to ensure we are enjoying ourselves and the food. Totally recommend to anyone looking for a nice, cozy and quiet restaurant where you can actually have a conversation.

My husband and I went here for the first time on Valentine’s Day and the whole experience was incredible! Starting with the owner, James, who sat us at our table. Very friendly and inviting! He made us feel right at home! Then our server, Renee was fantastic! On top of the fact that our food was great. We ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken and both had the penne ala vodka with chicken for dinner! We loved the food so much we even squeezed in room for a lava cake for dessert! We cant wait to go back!

Not sure why the good reviews for this place. Over priced and staff not friendly. Our waitress was friendly until we got our food and then never came to check on us. The person who brought our appetizer just kind of dropped it on our table with a disgusted look on his face. Tried to make small talk with the owner and he acted like he couldn’t bother. We got the Peasant Bread for the appetizer. It was overcooked on one side. Our entrees were the Black Angus Hamburger and the Freshly Made Cheese Ravioli. The hamburger was decent enough but the ravioli was a HUGE disappointment. Not sure what they mean by “freshly made” but it was like the frozen ravioli you can make at home. Seven pieces of ravioli with generic tomato sauce for $29 and you don’t even get bread with it. A coke was $6! This place is not worth your time or money.

* I also just noticed that the owner only replies to good reviews on here. Does NOT address any review where someone doesn’t rave about them. This should tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about this place *

June 2024 - Very enjoyable lunch here midweek with an old friend. We were so busy talking it took us a long time to even look at the menu. I appreciated the waiter giving us as long as we needed so politely. After our meal, the owner, James, came and chatted with us, catching us up on Litchfield news, which was also pleasant.

Looking at the menus, we both decided to have a glass of French Sauvignon Blanc. It was perfectly chilled and balanced in good stemware. My friend had the grilled chicken sandwich with arugula, Cabot cheddar cheese and garlic aioli on a bun. He said it was good. I chose off the special menu what is their grilled portobello sandwich with arugula, gorgonzola and tomato aioli on their regular menu, but with the addition of a fried egg on top, which I ordered medium and that was how it was prepared. Really tasty. We both liked their hand cut fries that came with our food. Light, thin with the right amount of salt.

There is an impressive stock of spirits at their bar. The dinner menu consists of mostly beef, fish, and pasta, with many delicious entrees to choose from here. They also have a dessert menu with items for every sweet tooth and a kids menu with pleasing choices each for ten dollars.

We had a great lunch here! I loved the organic options on the menu, including the tomato sauce for our child and the delicious salmon. The desserts were fantastic and the service was extremely friendly and outgoing. Definitely a place will be revisiting next time we’re in Litchfield.

Truly a wonderful establishment. Amazing food and unbelievably kind team. The lovely restauranteur brought us a spectacular vegan Caesar salad for us to try and provided us with some delightful conversation throughout our meal. At some point, he also went outside to clear the snow off the patrons’ cars. 11/10. A must visit.
