Sherry Blair of World Travel in Jacksonville, IL, dropped the ball and ruined our vacation plans.

We booked a vacation package in June 2024 to Mexico for our anniversary. When we arrived at the airport, we learned our flight was cancelled and no other flight was available. We called World Travel from the airport for their assistance and left a couple messages. No one responded.

We learned later Sherry did not provide our phone number or email address to Frontier Airlines. If she had, we would have received the flight cancellation email and been able to rebook our flight for the next day. We learned later Sherry received two emails from Frontier several hours before our scheduled flight that it was cancelled but failed to notify us.

I emailed Sherry that evening to let her know our flight was cancelled. She said she was on vacation in Jamaica, but would check on flights and call me back. She called back and assured me she had us booked on a flight the next day. We made the trip again the next day, and we had no flights.

Over the next few weeks we spent hours on the phone with Sherry Blair and her staff, Frontier Airlines, and Applevacations to try and sort this mess out. Sherry Blair never apologized/took responsibility for ruining our vacation plans. Her and her staff failed to rebook our flight or reschedule our vacation package.

Our experience with Sherry and World Travel was a nightmare, and we cannot recommend this travel agency.

I called from the airport to see if we could get an early check-in because we had been up all night on the flight. The person answering the phone his name was Quinton and when I asked if we can have an early check-in he said yes. I asked him if he had a time when we could check in and he said when the maids get the rooms cleaned, I said do you have any idea about what time that would be. He proceeded to scream at me saying when the maids get the rooms cleaned. He screamed so loud that my brother standing about 10 ft away from me asked me what the guy's problem and why. was he yelling at me. So when we got to the hotel I asked to speak to Quentin and I was talking to Quentin, I told him I did not appreciate him yelling at me over the telephone and he said I don't remember that conversation so I told him what was said he said again I am sorry I don't remember yelling at you. I said it was more of a scream and my brother heard it. He totally made me feel like I was stupid. And he said well because you think I yelled at you I will knock off the 30 dollars that is required by the hotel for early check-in for my brother's room because my room wasn't ready. During my whole day which was 4 nights I had to make four phone calls to get housekeeping to come to service my room. The lady who came up to my room to talk to me was over housekeeping and she got a girl to come right away to clean my room. I asked her to please see to it that I had housekeeping the next day and she said I will put you on the list. Needless to say I did not have housekeeping the next day either. I complained to one of the other managers oh and by the way Quentin is a manager, the other manager said that he was an equalto Quinton so he couldn't do anything about my complaint about him screaming at me but assured me that he has a boss that is over him and he will notify her of my complaints and that she will be calling me. It's been almost 2 weeks since we were there and I have yet to hear from anybody. I really believe that Quentin didn't like it when I called him out about yelling at me and making me feel stupid that he intercepted my housekeeping. And to call down for coffee go down for whatever I needed and it was not a very pleasant experience for me for this hotel.. I would not recommend this hotel and I have advised world travel who we booked through about my experience and they have asked me to contact them if I hear from anybody. The hotel was nice and most of the people there were very friendly except for Quentin. I feel if he doesn't know how to deal with people that he should never have been put in a managerial position, just my opinion.

Best place ever! Sherry and staff are experts in getting it done. Professional, patient and knowledgeable about world and statewide travel opportunities. Saved my skin a few times with late visa and covid requirements too! Go local they're the best.

i called to get a quote on a plane ticket to Ft.Myers, Fla. i was told they would have to call me back with a price, its been 4 days, no call back. very poor customer service. Ill never use this travel agency again.

Not upfront about the difference between paying for cash back insurance vs insurance for a voucher. She knew all about it once we were in a position to possibly cancel, however.
