You should definitely visit the museum. It's been renovated, new exhibits added, the old stuff is still there too. If you're like me and you visited the museum as a kid and with your own kids, it'll be great. We got there right when it opened, it is free now. Even on a winter Sunday, it was not really that crowded. Interactive displays are cool, the life-size dinos are still really cool, the gemstones are very very cool, the dioramas of different ecosystems are excellent and brought me back to my childhood. We even managed to find a gift in the gift shop, even though it would be nice if they still sold a gyroscope (I think that's what it's called). Parking was super easy. Bathrooms are clean. It would be nice if they had a little cafe to grab a cup of coffee, however I'm not willing to deduct points. Overall, all praise for Yale in offering this gem of a museum to the public for free. Bravo!

The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, offering an engaging experience for visitors of all ages. From stunning dinosaur fossils to fascinating cultural artifacts, every corner of the museum had something to captivate us. The staff were friendly and helpful, and entry was seamless with no wait time. The museum is well-organised, making it easy to explore at your own pace. While buying tickets in advance wasn’t necessary for us, it might still be a good idea during peak seasons. Highly recommend this gem for a fun and educational outing!

This is an awesome museum. It has 3 floors with multiple exhibitions - minerals, fossils, illusions, historic artefacts and many more. It is very accessible and is easy to navigate with a stroller. You can find exhibits for any age here. The space is easy to navigate, especially with the free guide you're given at the entrance. And all of that comes free of charge. This museum is a perfect weekend destination and I recommend visiting it at least once to everyone.

The Yale Peabody Museum is one of the most unique museums in the United States. The museum has a phenomenal collection of dinosaur bones, for which it is most known. On top of the amazing collection of dinosaur bones the museum also offers collections of minerals, and artifacts from ancient civilizations around the world. Best of all, admission is free!
The museum has recently been renovated and looks great. The first floor contains the Burke Hall of Dinosaurs gallery which features the The Age of Reptiles Mural. This gallery is perhaps the greatest in the museum. On the same floor you can also see the “World of Change” and “Human Footprint” galleries. The can’t miss exhibits here are the brontosaurus skeleton, stegosaurus skeleton, a fossil of a fish eating a fish, various early mammals and early hominins skeletons.
The second floor features a “History of Science and Technology” hall and artifacts from the ancient civilizations. Some of the artifacts from ancient civilizations include a stele that has Hammurabi’s Code on it, and early clay tablets with cuneiform on them. l.
The third floor of the museum has a vast collection of minerals from all around the world, and meteorites from out of this world. Dioramas of North American animals can be seen here as well. The museum also features the “Hall of the Pacific” where artifacts from the Pacific islands civilizations can be seen.
Check the museum’s website for where to park. There are very few museums which offer so much for free. There is something here for everyone. This museum offers breathtaking exhibits that cover a variety of topics. It is easy to spend many hours here. A must see for just about anyone!

It's FREE, but you do need tickets ahead of time, especially in the busy months of summer. You reserve them online, it's free and easy, and you get 5 per order. On the weekend there's also free parking, especially at the Yale lots, and it's all very close. From the parking lot, we only walked a minute and were greeted by friendly staff. You can walk around the museum at your own pace. There is lots of cool stuff to see. Photography is allowed. You just can't touch anything. We saw adults/ kids of all ages. This is a great local CT gem for sure!

My friend, a single mom, recently visited the Yale Peabody Museum with her kids. She was grateful to find street parking. Grateful for the museum is free to public and grateful to see all the exhibitions. And grateful for the people who work there are so patient and nice to kids and explain the exhibition to her kid while she got a moment to see butterflies in winter. It was a miracle moment for her and her kids. Thank you Zack, and the reception and the security and everyone like you who works in the museum teach and guide people with your knowledge and love heart.

Fantastic museum with free admission for everyone. Spread over 3 floors, it unwinds so many mysteries of earth and civilizations back in time. World of change aka dinosaurs skeleton section is really popular among visitors. The mineral, earth and space section was my personal favorite, had all sorts of glowing gems and rocks. The technology advancement section was also very educational. Through out the museum Yale’s contributions are highlighted. It takes good 3-4 hours to fully explore the museum.

Restrooms are very well maintained, super clean everywhere. They have their own parking lot. Associates are friendly. But the gift shop is very small, not much variety of produce.
