We are Floridians but did our first (but not last!) YFMR in Fair Lawn, NJ. Our 12 year old was psyched (she's run half marathons, 5ks but was desperate for an obstacle course/mud run), but in my mind I thought it was going to be rinky-dink. I mean, how good could it be at a public park, no chip timers, etc.? We are used to running distance events. Well, I have to eat my words! The obstacles were challenging for all of us but great for doing together as a family! It was wonderful to meet so many other families setting healthy priorities and having fun together! We will sign up for YFMR races again!

As one of the photographers for this event it was easy to see everyone having a great time, especially the kids. Plenty of mud on the every as they made it through the obstacles.

If you want to give your young child a fun healthy family experience I recommend you sign them up for this event.

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! We had a FABULOUS time at Your First Mud Run. It was really my first mud run. The obstacles were fun and exciting. The company I worked for brought Your First Mud Run to our office as a charitable fundraiser. Everyone had an exciting and marvelous time. I HIGHLY recommend that if you are an organization looking for a fun event for your employees and want to raise money for a charity at the same time, contact them. The staff was friendly and a pleasure to work with. It was the easiest event we ever planned for the company because they handle everything. All we did was showed up and had a GRAND TIME. I highly recommend it to everyone.

This has to be some kind of scam! They dont do refunds. Let me repeat they dont do refunds. The race was cancelled due to a truck breaking down. It was a christmas present for my kids but they rescheduled it to the hottest month in florida 7 months after the original date. I recommend going with a more reputable company. Buyer beware! Consider this a warning. These people are scammers

This event couldn't be better! Took my 12yr old cousin and we had a blast! The obstacles are fun for kids and adults alike. The staff were friendly and encouraging as well. I'm definitely doing this again, and I would highly recommend this to anyone who's ever wanted to try a mud run:)

Do not recommend anyone to pre order anything from this place. They delay the race and then end up canceling it. They said in their email no refunds despite them not having a reliable vehicle. I’m sorry but as a business you need a backup plan. Then they threw in at the end oh if you must have a refund it will be another 6 months. Hmmmm sounds fishy like someone spent everyone’s money and now they are in a pickle.

My first mud run was this one - it led me to do 2 Spartan Races since! It is great for families and kids just love it. I have also volunteered to help at the races - a must try and great for charities, business team bonding events and birthday parties.
