Say they are to help domestic violence survivors. Yet they push you like less than a week to find housing. And when you do, they drag their feet. Also I was assaulted by abuser in Huntsville. Have hpd and hospital proof. But because I didn't think to or wasn't able to call them, they exited me from program. And they are as controlling as most abusers including their kitchen use policy. My granddaughter in school in Birmingham and no outbreak of COVID so why that excuse YWCA uses for keeping kitchen locked?

It was an awesome visit. The administrators had every thing in check point once you walked into the faculty to may sure that the children, parents and staff were safe from any virus or whatever.
I felt assured that this facility was following the regulations and going above to keep everyone safe.

It was a safe place for me to regain structure & stability. But then, I rent an apt. unit from them. I caught COVID and couldn't pay my rent. And when I tried to continue to pay my rent during COVID, they refused to accept my money. Now I have an eviction on my credit report! After exhausting all efforts to regain stability, I'm back where I started from!! Broke, busted and disgusted with the whole outcome of seeking help through the YWCA! And add insult to injury, they would garnish my pay , taking as much as they want out of my check to pay off the debt. And that too also leaves with no money to regain anything! I wouldn't recommend the YWCA to anyone. You'll come out better staying at a shelter and starting over. I thought that the YWCA was supposed to help!!!

Tried to speak to someone about utility Assistance. Me and my wife are separated and she has been asking for help from the YWCA and keeps getting the run around. Spoke to a receptionist who was rude and behaved as if I was a problem. If you are not going to provide help at least say so.

Didn’t seem to care or take us seriously. Said someone would call us back but they never did, never even presented us with options we could take. Just leading us on and wasting our time. One Place was far more helpful and caring

I was in an abusive relationship & called the hotline. I entered the shelter with just the clothes on my back & the ladies there were very helpful with any & everything. I don't know what I would have done without their assistance. I greatly appreciate all they have done for me & would recommend to anyone. I wish I could give 100 stars. Thanks!
