We went out on Saturdays 3:30 tour with Captain Rick. Definitely dress warm for the open waters, and rough ride at times, (about 8-10 miles from land)
Be prepared for the unexpected! Like the humpback whale that surprised us by soaring out of the water breach into a back flip before our eyes! No words to describe, and not quick enough to capture as we sat in awe! (closer than Cap has seen in quite some time.
I can't express the excitement as countless dolphins raced along the boat.
Hundreds all around us, a breathtaking, graceful experience. Cap Rick shared his knowledge and experiences with us, and this tour was definitely one he was thrilled to have. Hearing his excitement as we raced towards the spray of the whale, but not knowing what we would see, made this a special adventure. The sunset was beautiful and I was able to capture a clip of dolphins in sync in front of it. (Im trying to attach it). We finished passing by the adorable Sea lions cuddling together, greeting us vocally. We are so happy to have experienced life in their natural element. Thank you Captain Rick! And the hat is a kind gesture and keepsake

I’ve taken friends on Adventure Whale Watching twice: yesterday and three years ago. Both adventures were a lot of fun. On one trip, in March ‘21, we were surrounded by friendly dolphins and saw a few whales in the distance. Yesterday, we didn’t see either, but the 2 1/2 hour ride out San Diego’s harbor into open sea nearing Mexico’s Coronado Islands was still exhilarating and beautiful. Captain Rick is very kind, knowledgeable and skilled. The small zodiac boats are fast and low to the water, and they take only 6 people, so it feels like the opposite of a crowded, touristy thing. I recommend it as a great thing to do with guests.

It was an experience worth our time and every penny! Captain Bree was full of knowledge and shared it in an engaging way. We tracked a yearling humpback, saw sea lions and a very large pod of playful dolphins.
The weather conditions very unbeatable.
I want to go again, using this company.

What a fun adventure for our 38th anniversary! We had an enjoyable 3 hours on the water. We were excited to see a family of Blue Whales, along with dolphins and sea lions. The boat style gave for an up close experience. Brock, our guide and boat captain, was friendly and knowledgeable. Brittany, in the office, was also incredibly friendly and accommodating. It was our first whale watching experience and worth every penny!

It was an absolute pleasure going out with the crew at Adventure Whale Watching! There was no question that the folks here LOVE what they do, and that passion spills right over into the tour. We had the opportunity to get up close & personal with several pods of dolphins, including a mega pod of 300+ swimming just a foot below us & all around. That’s a memory I will never forget! The captain also spotted a marlin & a mola mola. I enjoyed hearing the explanations for why the boat travels to certain locations based on the underwater topography & about the whales’ migration patterns. We would go again in a heartbeat!

Captain Kirk was awesome. The boat ride itself was fun. There is no guarantee on what you will see on these tours but we got to see sea lions, dolphins (lots of dolphins), and a humpback that came right up to the boat. It was amazing. Having the small group was great too. No one blocking your view. Money very well spent on this tour.

Captain Brock was amazing! He was knowledgeable and friendly, despite us being a couple minutes late to boarding. He really made sure he helped us see as much wildlife as possible on our tour and even turned the boat around for me to get the perfect shot on my camera. He was spot on with the whale’s breathing and diving patterns.
As for the boat, this was the smoothest ride I’ve ever been on. Some bigger tour boats can make me nauseous but surprisingly the smaller faster boat was easier to ride on.
This tour company is amazing and I would gladly tour with them again.

Our experience with Captain Kyle on Thursday was amazing. We saw 7 blue whales. SEVEN. Also sunfish, dolphins, and sea lions. The whole time my 12 year old daughter and I felt safe and in good hands. Captain’s knowledge of scientific information about the sea life, ocean, and already gathered data made the experience even better. I am an educator of 19 years and that part added so much more to the overall experience. Couldn’t have been happier. Certainly will come again and tell everyone I know to use this company. As well as request captain Kyle.
