This is a rad little motel. I really enjoy the history, the entire place made from a single giant redwood. Something that really stands out is just how pretty the old redwood timbers are and how much exposed wood is all over the place. It's beautiful and adds such a cool ambiance. Rooms were clean and updated and a really good value. I think we paid around $75 a night in the off season. They are doing some work, updating additional rooms. Bed was comfy, I slept great and didn't wake up with any aches or pains. I would have like an extra pillow or two but I'm a princess. Overall would highly recommend if you're coming up to check out the redwoods and the ocean.

We loved it here! We stayed in May during our Redwood/Northern California road trip. We loved how close it was to our next days destinations and also had a good time exploring Crescent City a bit. We especially liked visiting the seals in the bay and walking along the beach. The views were really awesome and we saw an absolutely beautiful sunset. Our room was basic but great. If youre picky and need fancy, this isnt your place. But if you're looking for a cute rustic spot that sends you back in time a bit, then definitely check this spot out! We loved it!

Cute hotel and clean rooms. The windows had great noise dampening. The ocean is across the street. We walked down to the harbour around 7am and saw seals swimming close to the walkway. There is a great taco place just a couple minutes from the hotel. I would stay here again if ever back in the area.

So while this motel wouldn’t have been my first choice had there been a Marriot or Hyatt option in Crescent City, this Motel is sufficient. The rooms are large, bathrooms are newly remodeled and that makes up for the dated furniture and bed. The reserved covered parking is great as it was raining the night we stayed. So, a bit dated and kitchy but fine and clean for the price. The breakfast across the street was outstanding with large portions. Hit that instead of Dennys!

First off, we were dupped by the reviews. These 4/5 or 5/5 star reviews are either fake or we must have gotten one of the worst rooms there. The room I booked was supposed to be a queen. It was not. Just because you throw a queen blanket on it doesn't make it a queen. There was no fan in the bathroom and it got very hot in there after my tub/shower combo (you can't soak). The walls are paper thin so I could hear neighbors "enjoying" their squeaky, small bed. The towels were more like rags. The T-shirt I'd worn 2 days in a row while on the road was whiter and smelled better. The TV had to have been 19"at the most but I didn't bring a ruler or anything just had to sit almost directly in front of it. No AC (with all that wood you'd think?), bed was most uncomfortable I've slept in since beginning my vacation a week ago, carpets were dirty, deadbolt and chain were almost rusted thru, and as soon as we walked into our room the phone rang. It was the front desk asking me to move my car because I was in a spot that was already rented out (ghost town at that time anyways). I told him I was just carrying my bags up and would be down in a min to move it since my parking spot was along a curb in the center of the parking lot for some reason. I was one out of 2 that had to park like that. I actually thought about sleeping in my car vs the room. After all I paid for it. But lastly the blasting horn from the nearby harbor kept me awake anywhere I tried to sleep that night. I don't think this place was "unique" in a good way. It's rundown, uncomfortable, and if you believe the good reviews well best of luck to you. You might as well stand over a toilet and flush your $80 now.

Very nice unique rustic but clean motel. The interior walls and outside siding was all cut out of one larger red wood tree. Very neat and clean. 99.00. Plus tax for double beds ? wow . Thank you in October

A great value for clean rooms with retro charm. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. I enjoyed the original furniture. The 2nd floor rooms are slightly cheaper and they come with a view of the water, but you don't get covered parking.

Centrally located. The only downside was that there was a foghorn or beeping all night from the nearby marina. It wasn't too difficult to sleep through the noise.

Following it's design concept the motel is definitely 50's, including the bed that included a "roll together", broke down 50's mattress that rated 'worst mattress I've ever not slept on'! Room furniture is also 50's decor and equally uncomfortable, but the place is cute, clean and does include tiny containers of bath essentials, a retro mini-fridge, microwave and very non-50's flat screen. And the price was good comparatively.
