We had an 11:30am appointment for “The Rio Trip - A Peaceful Morning Paddle”. Make sure you arrive 30 minutes prior to your trip start time to fill out waivers and get your stuff situated. They offered complimentary coolers, sunglasses tethers, and waterproof bags for phones, keys, wallets, etc. Got the introduction from the staff member and then took a 15 minute shuttle ride up to the start of the journey. Hopped into the kayak and away we went. I was expecting a little more current so we didn’t have to paddle much, but 90% of the trip had to be actively paddled. Not a big deal, but be aware that the trip is 5 miles and requires a lot of paddling. We had an absolute blast and the water was amazing on our 100+ degree day. Make sure to pack plenty of sunscreen and water and wear a nice big hat to keep the sun off you.

We had a wonderful time with this organization! Originally, we had to cancel because we both came down with Covid, and they were so easy to work with. We rescheduled easily. The entire staff was terrific. When we went to check in, we were greeted with smiles and warmth. The lady who drove the bus was friendly, the gal who got us all situated in the canoes and kayaks was super nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. And there was Kevin, who was waiting down river in a touchy spot to get us all through safely. Really great group of people. The river, of course, was wonderful--beautiful and peaceful. It got a bit noisier as we got closer to Healdsburg, but over all, a great trip. I would highly recommend and we will be back next year!

It was a very nice Kayak ride down the stream of the Rio Lindo. It was super easy and very relaxing. We enjoyed the river and the wildlife along the way. We saw lots of birds like ducks and geese as well as a great blue heron and even got a glimpse of an otter.
The crew was very friendly and helpful. The Kayak was pretty comfortable and they even provided water sealed bags and small coolers.
We had a great time. Highly recommended.

Relaxing kayak along the Russian River. River's Edge provided a simple, fun, and relaxing experience. Super easy to book and the attendants were friendly and attentive. Everything we needed for a five-mile trip was provided including a dry bag, small cooler, sunglass strap, and like new kayak and paddles. After check, we were loaded in comfortable air-conditioned van to drive up the river. At the launch site there was a bit of a walk along uneven pebbled surface where attendants were waiting with preassigned kayaks and canoes. After short safety instructions, the attendants offered to take pictures, assisted with strapping down belongings and then helped us launch. There were also River's Edges attendants paddling ahead and periodically along the five-mile stretch. Thank you, River’s Edge, for a fun and beautiful experience!

We did the Rio Trip in May and had a great time. The route itself was beautiful. There were so many birds to watch, crystal clear water with countless trout swimming by, and an otter playing at one stretch of the river. We booked the 10:30 slot, arrived back at the launch right at 3:30, and would have been happy paddling for another hour. River’s Edge does a great job running the kayak trip and provided all the little things you may not think about (coolers, dry bags, straps for your sunglasses, ziplock bags). Shout out to Jessica for being so friendly, helpful, and informative at the start of the trip! We will definitely be back!

Even on the last scheduled trip of the season, we had a tremendously relaxing and well-cared for experience! From reservation, to moving the date, to adding kayaks, all preplanning communication was clear and kind. The day of we were welcomed, given equipment and information, and enjoyed our shuttle ride to our launch point. We went with two kids (young but strong swimmers) and our mini Aussie doodle. The scenery and wildlife were serene, and the sounds and smells just so pleasant. An easy way to have a nature bath day even without your own equipment. Would highly recommend, and will be back! Want to try a moonlight trip!

Amazing experience, it felt like all we had to do was just get on the kayak and have fun. Thank you for making it so easy. This year due to extreme drought water levels are low, so might have to get out few teams, but it is still amazing! The fish are still there and the whole experience is awesome

It was our family's first time kayaking, and I did a lot of research to find a relatively safe, shallow, and calm river since we have a 7-year-old child and an 11-year-old lab mix (I know, in hindsight, not such a great idea as first timers). Anyhow, I am SO glad we decided to go with River's Edge on the Russian River. Everyone at River's Edge were so generous, friendly, accommodating, and understanding of us and our mistakes/blunder. The staff are very professional and have a big heart (especially for fumbling first timers with a freaked-out dog). I've learned that dogs rarely stay in the kayak--next time we'll know to just let the dog swim it out until she's tired and ready to come onboard. I'm so grateful that River's Edge let us borrow a doggie life vest (at no additional cost)--my dog definitely needed it. Also, River's Edge staff (Dave, I believe) stayed behind us the entire time to make sure everyone safely finished the roughly 3-hour trip down the river. He also let us know which paths to take for calmer waters. The river was clear, cool, and shallow (loved that it was not scary) and the views were amazing (lots of birds and fish, too). This was one of our best summer experiences ever. Thank you, River's Edge, for gifting us a memorable experience. We would love to be back!
