The measure of a hospitality group is how their team handles unexpected events. We recently stayed at Cardiff by the Sea Lodge and woke to flooding outside of our room (6am on a Sunday). No water available for bathrooms in entire hotel. As guests assembled in the small lobby, we were told it would not be fixed for "several hours," which was well past checkout and would certainly affect plans for most of us.
No attempt was made to take care of us. The team was in no way proactive in offering compensation when their $450+/night hotel was not fit for service. We expected to hear from the hotel. We did not. Ten days ago, we reached out to the hotel and are still waiting for a response.
When management reads this and posts the typical "contact us" response, I encourage you to instead go back to what I imagine are many requests already sent from those of us who were deeply inconvenienced and respond to those. Initiative should be on your end, not ours.
