This Holiday Inn Express is in Mill Valley just north of San Francisco. We stayed here for couple nights as we thought it would be a nice spot in between San Francisco and Sonoma. The Hotel is ok. Its older but seems like it was renovated recently and its clean. It was also quiet and there was plenty of parking. The views from here were nice and there are some hiking trails around if you like to walk around and enjoy the scenery. However... the price for the rooms was very high and staying here was not worth it. In retrospect we would have stayed much higher quality hotel for the same price in San Francisco with views of the Bay and take in the city. Also found that this town does not like tourists very much. The hotel staff is nice, the place is clean.. if you can afford it.. its good.

THE HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS MILL VALLEY HAS FLEA’S. I am very upset. We stay here every Thanksgiving and room 135 has flea’s. The manager was very rude and unhelpful. There is no number on the in unit phone to call the front desk. I called twice and no answer until a family member told them to call my room.
I was in a towel when the manager came to my room to then tell me there were no bugs after a 30 second ”check”. You did not look hard enough. Our family had 3 rooms totaling THOUSANDS for what would have been a long stay. We had to cancel the rest of our stay the day before Thanksgiving.
We spent Thanksgiving Eve at a laundry mat washing all of my belonging while I sobbed as my worst fear of bugs came to fruition. I must have at least 30 of the itchiest bites while the manager told me it was impossible after she asked to see them. There was zero compensation for the bug infested room or the cost to clean everything.
Super fun detail is she asked a family member separately if I was on drugs!! No Tania Conde, I am not on drugs but thank you for gaslighting me and my family to our faces. How unprofessional can you be?
If that wasn’t enough, the infestation continued even when I threw away my suitcase and sanitized all belonging. We are now dealing with flea’s in my grandmother’s home and have since caught two and the bites continue. Before checking out I caught one in the hotel as well.
I had to rewash and spray flea killer on everything. I haven’t had a good nights rest in a week and between the noise and flea’s, I certainly didn’t sleep ok there. I have picture, videos and am in contact with the San Francisco Department of Public Health. I will be contacting her supervisor for the physical, mental and financial tole this has taken on me. I expect repercussions.

We really enjoyed our stay for many reasons including ample parking, fantastic saltwater pool, well heated hot tub, breakfast options and availability, and room comfort. The only critique would be the size of the bathroom. It was incredibly small, but did have great water pressure. The location of this hotel was fantastic. A very easy drive from downtown SF and within walking distance to many eateries/pubs/drug stores. The walking trail right out the front door was also appreciated. This is just a really nice area and extremely close to Muir Woods and Sausalito. The hotel also offers small bottles of water which was such a nice touch! |Side note: The pizza from Pizza Hacker was SO GOOD - you can easily walk to pick up your pizza.

Positive: Clean spacious room. Entire hotel was very clean and well-appointed. Staff very friendly and accomodating. Located amid some beautiful scenery. Loved the boardwalk; it enabled me to take nice long walks. Negative: Nothing, everything was great.

Prices in the San Francisco area are absurd. I stayed here at a price about 50% higher than a comparable HI Express in other suburban metro areas because it was the least expensive decently rated hotel in the Mill Valley area. I reserved a "bay view" room and was treated to a view of the parking lot. There was an elephant walking in the room above me. I could hear conversations in adjacent rooms. The only positive comment is that the breakfast was excellent. I won't stay here again. In fact, I will try to stay in another city during my west coast drive vacations.

This is a late review of when I went to San Francisco on July 25. After looking for a safe hotel to stay and a room that it was available without having to pay extra fees like parking or have to park far and walk at night to get to my room we found this hotel. We just needed a place to sleep safely to hit the road next morning. This place was good, room was clean. I couldn’t explore more areas but I explore the breakfast room ? and so far is the best breakfast I ever had in a hotel was like a restaurant. The ladies here where very nice to customers providing what we need and very helpful. My stay here was amazing. Thank you, made me feel welcome to me and family.

We stayed here for the second night of our two night out to Sausalito. The first night was at a Marriott property. I guess it is quite telling why we did not extend our stay there, and we are more than glad we moved!

This property is very special not just for the views, but also for its amenities, and next door resto. The rooms were good size, right next to a boardwalk/trails, and even had free bike rentals! I don't think I would want to book another hotel in the Sausalito area other than this Holiday Inn.

Spent just 1 night here The room was clean and comfortable The furniture was in good repair Bed was comfortable Bathroom was clean Great location. It is right near the 101 freeway but the room was quiet You can’t tell your that close. Nice walking path nearby Front desk staff was courteous and friendly I would stay here again
