Absolutely loved staying at this inn! Our room was upgraded and felt luxurious and homey at the same time. LOVED the free wine hour, which impressed us with the complimentary glasses of delicious red and white wines. Would definitely come back if returning to wine country!

Occidental is a cute town and the Inn was perfect for our book club overnight. Matt and Vicky are the new owners and a joy to meet and talk with. They have a lot of energy and excitement for this Inn and it shows. The cottage was super comfortable and luxurious. The inn has a lovely patio to relax on and breakfast in the morning is a cozy, yummy affair complete with eggs cooked to your liking, maple flavored bacon, fruit, homemade granola etc. I will be back in September for the Sunday night Concert Series they will be hosting.

Quaint little gem near downtown Occidental, however, we stayed in the one of the older rooms which was not great, aged carpeting and furniture with terrible lighting. The other rooms could be nicer but definitely inquire prior to booking. Lovely garden and the rest of the interior was decent. If I owned it, I’d refinance it and do a complete renovation and with the increased quality, they’d be able to charge more and provide a better true B&B experience.

Conveniently located, well-maintained grounds and quaint lobby. Our room was average, nothing special however we had problems operating the blinds and the room had plumbing issues. Wine hour consisted of one option of a less than desirable white. Unfriendly staff and difficulty with having the inn hold our luggage for a few hours after check out which is generally a standard offering at most lodging facilities. Based on other reviews, perhaps these issues are related to new ownership. This place is quite pricey so I would have expected better service.

This review is a bit late but I am reminded of our stay at this B&B in Occidental on this day in 2011 because it is the anniversary of the Joplin, Missouri tornado. Unfortunately we were staying at this inn and had no cell service, no internet service and no televisions to find out what was going on back home. I hope they have changed that dynamic. Other than that, the inn owners were friendly and the breakfast was nice.

A perfect place to spend a few nights while visiting the nearby wineries and the coast. Room was clean and spacious for the two of us. The Inn was very quiet at night - very easy walking to the main street in Occidental where you could shop and dine. They went out of their way to find us a driver for a day trip to some excellent wineries and all our interaction with the staff was excellent. My only disappointment was the continental style breakfast - it would have been nice to have a few more options (loved the croissant though!). Certainly recommend this inn!

Great inn in the middle of cute little town, Occidental. They offer some of their guest rooms for pet(s). We stayed with our little Frenchie. The room is spacious with a jacuzzi bathtub, a separate shower and a separate bathroom. We stayed during winter but I think the place would be more lovely with flowers in spring. The lobby is very nice with vintage furniture and coffee station. They offered breakfast and the selections were yogurt and granola. croissants, bacon, hard boiled eggs, fruits, coffee and tea. The staff is friendly and helpful. The parking is limited but I saw that there was a construction to make more parking spaces going on.

The new, inexperienced owners have plans to change the , the inn from an interesting, historical place to stay into some kind of techie ,cigar-lounge hangout with all the cutely colorful walls painted white (or cigar-shellaced) yellow soon!! Lol. Breakfast service has always been terrible unless your standards rise no higher than bacon and Costco croissants.
