Chumash Casino Resort - Santa Ynez, California

Spent the weekend at the Chumash resort and casino. The rooms were well kept and clean. The staff we interacted with were pleasant and accommodating. We did not use the pool area, but it too looked nice. Their gym is a bit on the small side and the ventilation could be a bit better in there. The casino is a bit on the small side with quite a few slots out of order. They do allow smoking in the casino and again the ventilation system is lacking. The smell of cigarette and cigar smoke is very prevalent in their casino. No issues with parking. The food was pretty good. They have a breakfast/lunch restaurant that has a Denny's feel and taste. A higher end restaurant called Willows. The food there was good with decent sized portions, just a bit on the expensive side. I didn't like that there was not a dress code. For an elegant restaurant, flip flops, baseball caps, and shorts should not be allowed. The Sports Bar and Grill was excellent. I liked the concept of four or five restaurants rolled up into one. Wait times can be a little high, but they do offer the option of take out kiosks. Solvang is about a ten minute drive away which helps fill in the gaps. Nice little weekend trip if you have never been.

Room very clean and modern. Free self Parking and very easy to access. No need to walk through casino to get to check-in desk.

Safe and welcoming for a solo traveller.

Bath mat - best I've ever seen! Thick and lush! I'll be looking for a dupe when I get home haha

My nightly rate was high, due to demand ($570ish). I wouldn't pay that again. But would definitely stay here again if the price was right ?

Everything was perfect; clean, comfortable, easy to operate. All the extras make it extra special. Not to mention direct access to the Casino. We live nearby and find Chumash a great way to cut out some couple time for ourselves and get away from the stress of all things at home. Highly recommend; we will keep coming back.||||Thanks always,||P & J

I just started coming to Chumash in July of 2024, I haven't won much... but me and my friend have a blast,? the balcony rooms are very clean& comfortable, the food court area very reasonably priced,? the valet guys ?are awesome and quick, so for the most part I love coming to Chumash for a quick getaway, I don't live too far I come from Los Angeles so the Drive is spectacular. and on the drive back home I'm always planning my next visit to Chumash?

Being used to casinos in Minnesota, this was a really bad experience in comparison. First, the whole place stinks because they allow smoking. You'd think they would have taken the opportunity to go smoke free after covid, but no. Too many machines either not working well, or out of service. Very confusing layout, no directories. No self serve coffee/soda stations. Had to be lucky enough to catch a wait person. Machines weren't paying out. And the parking garage took forever to get out of. I would NEVER EVER come back!

Casino is awesome. Location is great. Food delicious. But it's hard to get a drink (non alcoholic) here. My girlfriend and I seen one of the bars and decide to ask the lady if she could serve us a soda. The lady we asked looked at us in disgust. Looked at us from head to toe and very rudely ignored us. But with an older gentleman who sat down after us she smiled and made him a drink at his request. Management needs to remind the staff that everyone should be treated properly and kind. Because of this lady my experience there was not good at all. The casino in all is great. Sorry Chumash. I continue to visit anytime I'm traveling through.

I did not stay at the hotel, just visited the casino. It was my boyfriend's birthday and that's where he wanted to go. It was nice as usual. Clean. Polite and helpful staff. I actually won this time. I don't like coming here because I have never won. This is a first in like 10-12 years. Overall, we had a good visit.

We booked our room online on booking.com and were looking forward to the experience.
We are a party of four and drove 3 hours.
Valet is complimentary which is nice upon arrival & got our bags off the vehicle. We entered to check in & come to find out we didn’t have reservation even though we had confirmation number & money was withdrawn from account. We were told we had to wait 2 hours to confirm if we can get a room. Meanwhile we entered the casino while waiting with our belongings & started gambling while waiting. Immediately we felt harassed & the security were behind us watching us consistently. They looked into one of our bags and saw we had closed alcohol & told us we couldn’t have alcohol due to cutoff time at 10pm. We arrived at 3am & understood what security asked of us to leave our bag with alcohol outside. We went to take the bag filled with our snacks and alcohol by the main entrance as we didn’t know where our vehicle was parked by valet. 20 mins passed and we went to grab our bag by main entrance and it was no longer there. We were told by multiple staff they saw security take it. When asking where was our bag to concierge they called over security to speak with us. When security came to us, five of them came to talk to us regarding one back and intentionally wanted to intimidate us. They were extremely rude and stated we didn’t have a room after telling them we did but proceeded to say we didn’t because we weren’t checked in which again was not our fault. Since entering the casino we felt intimidated by security and followed. We paid money as any other guest to come and enjoy there services and were poorly treated. While gambling we were not even greeted by waitress or were offered water or coffee. We felt unwanted and intimidated by security and staff. No one was able to help us or make us feel welcomed. The casino, security, and hotel are not connected and cannot offer any help with an issue. We were able to be checked in after all and came up to our room. Once being in the room we were discouraged to go downstairs after being harassed and treated how we were. Being it is my first time coming and was excited to visit new casino being I go to multiple casinos and resorts by far this is the WORST customer service EVER. I am not happy paying anything to them or gambling. I will NEVER return and will never encourage anyone to come to this hotel. 15 minutes into the room we received a call saying we are too loud. We have only been talking to each other, with no speaker, our music playing low on our phone. 3rd time now we are harassed again in a matter of 3 hours with security knocking at our door saying they have received 3 noise complaints and threatening to kick us out. WE HAVE BEEN HARASSED AND INTIMATED SINCE ENTERING THE CASINO & NOW FOLLOWED TO OUR ROOM WITH THE SAME TREATMENT. This is outrageous customer service and treatment. We have been cooperative and respectful. Security called sheriff on us for no reason because we were having a conversation about the events that have taken place since our arrival.
