This place is like a breath of fresh air! No bells and whistles as they say, just a lot of awesome. It was wonderfully relaxing, with lots of space to walk and roam around. Very "homey". The atmosphere here is so relaxing and wonderful, it just can't be put in words. After our stay here I feel totally refreshed again, better than I have been in 20 years! And the staff is so very friendly. This place was just so wonderful I never felt like I wanted to go out and go shopping or even leave the premises. We look forward to our next stay here. AND, they are pet friendly!! Love you White Oaks!!!

This is by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The grounds looked as if they hadn't been taken care of in years. There was a strong pungent odor when you initially walk into the lobby (don't worry, it goes away after it burns your senses out). Looking around the lobby was like going back in time to early 70's. The Brady Bunch had to have visited. The pool was empty and it's plumbing was thrown out around the grass area. Robert, the manager, said their pool pump had just gone out. Looking at reviews after he said that, it's obvious it's been down a couple years. ||The room was indeed spacious but had the same odor from the lobby. The 24" tube TV had no remote and had to warm before you get a decent picture. There was also no remote until I went to the front desk. To fill the tub we had to place a face towel over the drain and turn on the shower (plunger on the faucet was frozen so only the shower came on). The ceiling looked as if it had been leaking for years and he bathroom counter looked like they wiped mold from it. ||We couldn't get a refund after making the reservation so was kind of stuck there. We went to Walmart and bought our own blankets as we were worried for bed bugs.||At checkout went to the lobby to find an envelope with our name on it. Our card number was on the enclosed paperwork. ||I would never recomend this place to any one but the county inspectors.

This place is awesome. It's very affordable and well kept. My wife and I decided on staying here just because of the price, and when we showed up were pleasantly surprised by how great this hotel is. Our room was quite large, having a main room with a kitchenette and a separate bedroom. The grounds are fairly extensive with a huge lawn area, volleyball nets, and a pool.
The service from the staff is excellent as well. After a large meal I clogged the toilet (a common occurrence for me) and after being unsuccessful with the plunger called the front desk and the maintenance guy had the toilet fixed within 10 minutes of the call.
In short, White Oaks is the first and last hotel on my list of places to stay in Lompoc.

Didn't even check in ! Upon arrival noticed hotel was nothing like photo on Internet in fact it looked adandoned which is hardly surprising ! When we entered the reception saw it was filthy and smelt bad upon which I started to become uneasy stating to my husband I didn't want to stay! At that time the receptionist was busy checking a single man into the hotel who was accompanied by his two pet snakes !! The receptionist was giving him the run down about keeping them enclosed safely as to not let them roam free around hotel which he promised he would! I do not think he was on holiday but moving in !||We informed the receptionist that we would not be staying and she gave us the Internet password so we could cancel with Internet booking agent with a 139 dollar fee!!!! I would rather have slept in my car !||We returned to a motel in Lompoc and thankfully managed to get a room for the night, the receptionist informed us that he heard people were residing there which we suspected. This is fine but don't advertise it as a hotel it's inaccurate and unacceptable.

Stayed here on two separate trips. It seems like it was a much nicer place that doesn't have the same funding as it did before. Things were needing repair and there isn't much staff, but it was a comfortable room with a good rate when much of Lompoc was nearly at full occupancy. |We called needing a room for that night because we couldn't access the room we had reserved at Vandenberg (but that is a whole different review). They were able to get us a large enough room for our family of 6 (bed, pull out couch, two cots) and didn't take advantage of the fact that we were 6 hours away from home without a room.

The pool is drained, the website photo doesn't look like it's the same motel. In reality its more run-down. The furniture is ripped you can't reach front desk by phone during morning hours. No way to call rooms until front desk is open. And that's a short time. This was once a a 5 star hotel and restaurant.

This place looks like it may have been nice a couple decades ago. Pros: Our room was quite large and had sliding glass doors that opened onto a grassy area. Cons: It was overpriced, the "sleeper sofa" was so old and broken down that even our two kids couldn't sleep on it. It was a good thing we had the sliding glass doors, because the rooms do not have A/C and the personnel couldn't find the fan that "is usually in this room". The worst part was that the "staff" consisted of two people, from what we saw. They were obviously overwhelmed, so check in took about 20 minutes. At check out time, there was no one to be found anywhere. There's a phone on the front desk that you're supposed to use to call for assistance, but when we tried it rang about 30 times and then just disconnected us. The folks there were very nice, and it worked for us in a pinch; but it just wasn't worth what we paid for it at all.

Awesome hotel! The woman at the front desk (Leigh) was one of the nicest people we met throughout our cross-country trip. The staff is incredibly accommodating, rates are great, rooms are very clean and cute, free continental breakfast is diverse and tasty. Highly recommended!
