This was the absolute worst vacation my son an I experienced. We went on vacation with two friends.
We walked in with all the information of our needs and preferences.
Very simple we wanted to go to
SAN JUAN, PR. We had never been there so it’s a once in a life time thing. I need a handicap bathroom, first floor, no lay overs. We were told we had no lay overs, Sharon the owner, said and showed us a first floor, 4 beds, handicap shower, sliding doors to a patio and walk steps to the pool San Juan.
We paid, received the itinerary and all info of hotel and flight.
First thing I read is we have a layover, next we have to pay $38 a night and 18% sales tax to the hotel which covers Wi-Fi, 50% off one entrée, towels, two waters a day, our pool side umbrella.
We were to stay in a hotel called
Hilton Embassy suites, Dorado, Del Mar. not from the area we had no idea that the name was also the town we were being sent to which is 45min to an hour from the airport in San Juan and it was the opposite direction of everything we booked as to tours in San Juan. It was a resort with a drive way to the hotel which is a mile long so you need to pay to get out of the resort. The tours would not pick us up unless we took cabs to San Juan.
Check in we find out there is NO FIRST FLOOR ROOMS, we would be on third floor, the furthest point from the pool, no handicap facilities in the room and only 2 beds. My son pulled the mattress out of the sofa and put it on the floor I put three pillows end to end on the sofa and that is where I slept.
Free umbrella was first come first serve and only 10, being disabled I’m never first for anything especially when I’m supposed to be on vacation. So they said to get an umbrella was $11 but who takes money to the pool, not me and to walk from the pool to the room back to the pool using a walker meant no umbrella. We spent over $700 for cabs. So we ate our free breakfast and no lunch, then dinner which averaged $50 person. Couldn’t even get my grandchildren nice souvenirs.
I emailed Sharon the OWNER, she said complain to the desk and she was going to email us stuff to do near Dorado. She should be calling she booked it. She never emailed back. We get one we go to see her, we want a redo vacation, no lie she said to my friend and my son and I “ I’m going to have to talk with the owner and get back to you” She is the owner and never told us it was her she said it is Kim, when I asked the owners name.
We heard nothing so we emailed Sharon and sent certified letter with return receipt, heard nothing.
I called today and I asked the girl woh answered the phone, who is the owner? She says “Sharon McGee” I was stunned and said “Are you sure” she said “Yes, Sharon is the owner” I aske the girl what her name was and she said “Kim” I said “You aren’t the owner?” She said No, I told her she told us the owner is “Kim” she said who is this and I hung up.
I have never been so lied to and upset and in shock. I’m going after a refund but advise you to be very careful and think it through before using this business. I’m also reporting this to the BBB and consulting the office that help those that are disabled. I was put on a third floor, no first floor rooms at all, and if their was a fire getting down three flights and out with a cane and not a walker would be dangerous if not fatal.

Working with Action Travel Center was one of the worst experiences I had ever had. My boyfriend and I booked a week-long trip to Rivera Maya and worked with Kim to make all the reservations. At her suggestion, we decided to book an upgraded room that included a private pool. After we paid for the vacation in full, we expected to receive the travel documents from Apple Vacations that include all the reservation details. After weeks of asking, we finally received information on Action Travel Center’s letterhead that stated, “Jr. Suite w/ private pool”. Still, I pushed for the Apple Vacations documents. When we finally received them only a couple of weeks before our trip, a lot of the reservation was incorrect including flight class, departing flight and room category. After days of going back and forth with Kim and being told “But rest assured you will have exactly what you are expecting when you get there”, Kim went radio silent and stopped answering our calls and emails. Our flight was corrected but we got to the resort and we did not have a Jr. Suite w/ a private pool. So, we paid Action Travel Center for something that we never received. They knew exactly what was going on and rather than correct the mistake they made, they decided to do nothing about it, kept our money and lied to us trying to make it look like they were correcting the room with the resort and Apple Vacations. We still enjoyed our vacation and were able to get the money they scammed from us back from our credit card company. We will never use their services again and highly discourage other customers from using them as well.

I have booked with them for years and my familyfor decades before that. Sharon is amazing. She listens and helps guide us to great resorts and fabulous vacations. Even thru Covid she helped guide us thru cancelled trips and rescheduling. I would never go anywhere else.
