We live in Oregon but I came to Standford Hospital for a specialized surgery. Because the surgery was extensive, I wasn't able to fly home immediately. I needed to stay in a skilled nursing facility for approx. a week. My experience was very good with wonderful staff with the exception of one night shift nurse, Arlene. I had a roommate who was in extreme pain, broken hip, femur & collarbone. One night, I needed help, and another night, my roommate needed help. On both incidences, this nurse and her crew weren't helpful, showed no empathy & ignored our call buttons for 15 minutes or more. We were there to have help recovering, not to be ignored. This nurse took two nights of sleep & recovery away from both my roommate and me. I would not return to this facility unless I was certain she was not going to be assigned to me. PS - All of the other staff were kind, attentive, and true caregivers! Casey, Alexa, Con, Evan, Nic, Lexi, Judith, Omar, Wayne, Dr. Jo, etc. Thank you!

I've lived at The Forum for 9 years. Moving here was among the best decisions of my life. My husband and I started our married life here. We have made many wonderful friends and enjoy stimulating, friendly, inspiring social activity daily. We are served delicious meals by a caring, helpful staff. The atmosphere here is a very positive one -- everyone, residents and staff alike, seem to share the attitude that The Forum is where they want to be.

The surrounding area is beautiful. I feel like I live in the countryside yet I am only minutes away from most services. The people are friendly, the food delicious and the facilities promote good health and intellectual endeavors.

My parents have lived at The Forum many years. The first 13 or so years in independent living. They loved the community and were active in many events and activities offered.
In the past few years they have lived in assisted living where they have received great care. The assisted living staff are wonderful people and have done an incredible job of taking care of my parents needs. They truly get to know residents and tailor care to each individual. I am so grateful to the staff. It is so nice to have confidence that my mom and dad are well cared for. I appreciate how friendly all the staff are and the great communication with me.

We chose the Forum as a place to be able to age in place comfortably primarily so our kids wouldn't have to worry about what to "DO" with us when things get harder. The office, in addition to two bedrooms available in the new Villas was just the incentive we needed to be assured we could host our family and friends without feeling cramped. We were delighted to calculate that the resident owned structure also provides a much better return on our investment. A good financial decision has turned out to be such a wonderful lifestyle decision. We enjoy the perfect amount of privacy with many new opportunities to be involved and connect with an amazing group of active and caring seniors.

I really didn't want to leave my home, which had many tools and work spaces that I had built. But every year I get older, so it's necessary to plan for an unknowable future. I've found room at the Forum for my main interests, and I enjoy living near the many very interesting residents! I feel stimulated, safe, and well cared for here. It's important to make the move well before you need to so that you can really enjoy this phase of life. It's been 5 years already. Good move!
