My husband and I went on a trail ride with Kim. It was really amazing! We’re in love with Kim’s horses, Buck and Chilly Dog. The ranch has a beautiful ocean view and trails through radish and mustard flower meadows. A owl/ falcon caught its prey and flew over our head. It was a magical moment. Kim is a very inspiring person. she showed so much care and love for the horses. We’re so grateful for the experience !☺️

We love going on trail rides with Kim Forbes at this beautiful place. Kim’s an expert equestrian and obviously loves and dotes on her happy trail horses. Her trail rides go back into the Golden Gate National Recreation Area on Montara Mountain, and feature stunning ocean and mountain views. The ranch also hosts an amazing horse camp for kids and tweens during the summer in this idyllic spot.

Love Moss Beach Ranch. Kim Forbes has been my instructor for nearly three years and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Kim really cares about her horses and the ranch. She doesn’t just teach riding skills, she teaches horsemanship skills. Moss Beach offers lessons, trail rides, and boarding. The kids’s camp looks like fun too (although I am a little old for kids camp, but it looks like the kids are having a blast). Take a trail ride with Kim. The views are spectacular!!

My husband and I live on the coast and started taking lessons with Kim at Moss Beach Ranch early this year and are so happy we found this hidden gem in our backyard. Her approach and knowledge has made learning about horses and horsemanship fun, engaging, and incredibly rewarding. We love spending with the horses and appreciate Kim’s support and willingness to teach us not only about riding technique, but also about horse care, and ground work, and we are feeling more confident and improved with each opportunity to work with her. Outside of lessons, there is an option to do trail rides through the open space areas. The beautiful scenery and wonderful Moss Beach Ranch community makes it the perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy the coast on horseback and we highly recommend all that are interested to visit the website and schedule a ride!

I have taken four private horsemanship + riding lessons from Kim so far and am really pleased with how they are going. Learning an entirely new skill as an adult (I'm 37) can be intimidating and frustrating, and I am really grateful that Kim is a very attentive and patient teacher. She takes the time to help me not only understand the "how" but the "why" behind what she's showing me to do, and we progress at a pace that feels appropriately comfortable but challenging. Each time I leave I feel like a learned a lot, and my lesson has quickly become one of the highlights of my week. It helps that the drive out to the ranch from San Francisco (where I live) is an easy and beautiful 30-minute drive. Highly recommend.

I took my family on a trail ride with Kim and her assistant. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the assistants name but she was awesome! The trails had stunning ocean views and I was pleasantly surprised that this was not your typical trail ride. Their horses actually need to be ridden. They’re not conditioned to follow the tails in front of their noses like a Disney ride! I recommend this to anyone looking for a real equestrian experience!
