I surprised my daughter with a one hour trail ride today which was very exciting because she had never been on a horse before. the staff right off the bat they were welcoming and helpful through the entire experience which helped my daughter get to enjoy her surprise. The ride was amazingly beautiful and it was just the right weather. Our wrangler was an absolute joy to have on the ride. She thought her talking the whole time was a bother but to say this bluntly she is what made the rest of the experience awesome. We hope to see her next time we go and listen to more stories she has to share. Today was a great day and I thank you all at Shadow Glen for making that happen. Till next time

We had an excellent experience celebrating my daughter’s birthday—she was turning double digits! The staff was incredibly friendly, everything was clean and well-organized, and I especially loved seeing how well they treat the horses. The overall experience was amazing, and the guides during the ride were fantastic. Highly recommend for a birthday celebration or any special occasion!

I took my 11 and 8 year old, and they had a blast! It was my son's first time riding, and the trail guides and staff were so helpful. He wasn't scared or nervous at all. His favorite part was actually after the ride when the owner Terry let him hold some chickens (his favorite animal) and take some eggs home. My oldest and I have been here many times, and we always have an amazing experience. Can't wait to come back!

I booked a 1 hour trail ride for 4 people for my daughter’s birthday as a surprise! When we arrived the kids decided they wanted to do the 2 hour trail ride instead. I know Shadow Glen is usually booked up because we have also done riding lessons here a couple times this summer. When we arrived I asked if it was possible to upgrade to a 2 hour ride instead. They said they couldn’t because they also had a fundraiser going at the same time which limited their horses, guides, and wranglers. Totally understandable! But they offered for us to come back a couple hours later for another 1 hour ride! That was perfect because it gave us time to go eat lunch and come back! The staff is super friendly, very helpful, and very professional.

They were absolutely amazing. I wanted to plan a proposal and they were so accommodating and helpful!! Neither one of us had ridden before but they were very patient and tought us everything we needed to know. The ride itself was beautiful and the proposal went great!! We will absolutely be back!! For years to come

Amazing first time experience riding a horse! I recently took my girlfriend to Shadow Glen for a 2 hour trail ride for her birthday which also happened to be her first ever experience with a horse. ALL of the staff were very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable about the horses and trails. We had Mikayla as our Ranger and Lucy was guiding us. They were a great team and we appreciate their love for the animals and the trails they take them on. We look forward to hopefully coning back soon!

This place was amazing from the call to book all the way through the ride. The wranglers were so friendly and so helpful. My mother in law and aunt are in their 70s, I had never been, and my fiancé had only done it once. They gave us a demonstration beforehand and continued checking that we were ok on the ride. They stopped with us on the trail and took a group picture. We will definitely be back!

Been in Sacramento over 30 years and this place is a hidden gem! Process to book was very easy. Very friendly staff who knew what they needed to in order to provide us a safe and educated ride. We were celebrating a belated birthday and took the 1-hour ride which was amazing. The horses were well mannered and some came with fun personalities. Special thanks to Jessica who answered my questions and to Terry who took the time to provide us with some history on Shadow Glen as well as information on volunteering and becoming a wrangler. Kudos to you and your crew!
