Linda was the perfect host, helpful and kind. The breakfast was delicious and included several courses, starting with a fresh fruit salad. Each room in the house held unique treasures and details waiting to be discovered, from antique toys to lovely old books. The furniture and furnishings were gorgeous. Linda clearly paid attention to details, like special Marsh House robes. I couldn't have been happier! This was the perfect location for my daughter and I to stay while looking at Grinnell College.

Our stay at the Marsh House was a terrific treat. I and my daughter visited Grinnell in minus 8 degree weather, and the welcome and the accommodations more than kept us warm. Linda sent us out each day with a hot breakfast that started the day right, and the Marsh House gave us a cozy welcome home in the evening.

There is much to appreciate in the house itself. Linda and her husband have lovingly restored the 1892 home's craftsmanship both inside and out. Linda has equipped and decorated it just as carefully. The best part is that even with all the richness of detail, it felt like a home and not a museum.

We were in Grinnell for the wedding of a close family friend. We shared the Marsh House with members of the bride's family. Because we had all three rooms, we felt as if we were part of "wedding central". It was a beautiful home and Linda, the owner, thought of everything from delicious breakfasts to bringing a door hanger for the bride's wedding dress for photos. So thoughtful! It was a beautiful historical home with antiques to match the period. There was so much to see and appreciate in this house. The breakfasts Linda prepared were incredible. We were so pampered. We would highly recommend the Mrsh House.

All hotel rooms were booked long before the NCAA Division 3 Indoor Track and Field Championships, so we needed to be creative, so we looked into the Marsh House. What an AMAZING experience for my athlete (who ended up 3rd in the USA in the 60m Dash) and myself. Linda went out of her way to be sure each breakfast was exactly what the athlete needed. The house is amazing. We felt at home the entire time. The location is spectacular. I enjoyed mornings on the front porch drinking coffee and reading the local newspaper. Our stay was beyond perfect. Thanks to Linda and Jim for a fantastic 4 nights!

If you are looking for a great Bed and Breakfast and are within 100 miles of Grinnell, Iowa you must stay at the Marsh House. The room is cozy and the entire historical house has been restored with incredible furniture and various other antiques. The owners Linda and Jim are so welcoming that you feel like instant friends. And the breakfast! Wow! We've stayed in many B and B's and Marsh House is the best.

While the boys camped out, the ladies stayed in this lovingly restored Victorian home. We had all three bedrooms on the second floor and the shared use of a very large bathroom with a big bathtub. Each bedroom was furnished with beautiful Victorian furniture and comfortable seating. We were encouraged to use the living areas on the first floor which were also comfortable and fitting with the period. Breakfasts were delicious and served on antique china. There were little extra touches about which made us feel very much at home. Our hosts were also good conversationalists and very welcoming.

I recently hit the jackpot when I found the Marsh House to have rooms available for my last minute visit to see my daughter at Grinnell College. We shared the Master Suite and were quite comfortable. Linda ( the proprietor) greeted us on arrival with cookies about to be popped in the oven. It is a cozy Victorian home that the Paulsen's lovingly restored to perfection. Linda made an amazing breakfast for us with fresh fruit & yogurt parfait, homemade french toast & berries with real maple syrup ( heated) and crisp bacon! All served with crystal and china in the lovely dining room. The newspaper was available as well as a Keurig and fridge with beverages.||It was a real treat to spend the evening at the Marsh House B & B! Would love to visit in the future!|

We took two of the three rooms for the night before a college tour. The house is just lovely, beautifully restored and full of gorgeous antiques and old books. I love the (shared) bathroom with a claw foot tub set in the middle of it. The largest room has a private bathroom, but that was already taken. The fresh fruit and hot breakfast the next morning gave us an excellent start to the day. There were other nice touches such as a decanter of sherry available in the evening and cookies and sweets for the kids (and me!). I also enjoyed the fireflies in the yard. It was also nice that despite some road construction it took us just a couple of minutes to get to the admissions office. The price was lower than that of the box motels further away.
