I used the Pork Belly Ventures Shuttle to get from Burlington to Glenwood for RAGBRAI 2024. I chose Pork Belly Ventures because I'd heard so many good things about them and the reviews here on Google are really good. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't that great at all. I had a 7am shuttle and I was to park at the Westland Mall overflow parking as parking at the staging area was full. I was told to drop my bike and bag off at the staging area, make my way over to the Westland Mall to park my car, then shuttle back. I did all of this. What they don't tell you is where to find them at the Westland Mall and that you are supposed to pick your bag back up and load it yourself when you get back to the staging area. After standing on the wrong side of the mall for 15 minutes, I had to ask a few people where Pork Belly Ventures was located as there were no signs directing us. I finally found them at the mall, parked and shuttled back to the staging area with 7 minutes to spare ( Pork Belly began accepting bikes at 6am, so I had to wait for this before I could go over to the mall). I boarded the bus and then noticed my bag was still sitting in the grass where they told me to set it. I quickly hopped back off the bus, asked the staff about my bag and they told me to load it myself. That's fine and understandable, but that should have been explained when I was told to "drop my bag here". This small lack of communication could have completely ruined my entire trip. Once I had my bag loaded and was back on the bus, the ride to Glenwood wasn't bad. The coaches are cool and comfortable. We did stop half way for a snack, but we stopped at a Walmart, which was strange as most people would have chosen to grab a coffee and a snack instead of a full size groceries. We made it work and off we went with full size bags of chips and full size cartons of cookies. A couple hours later, we arrived in Glenwood. We arrived just before noon, which was great as several of us planned to get into town and ride the optional route to the Missouri River to dip our rear tires. This ride was scheduled at the top of the hour, every hour from 1pm-5pm. However, there was one major problem. Our bikes didn't arrive for almost another 5 hours and we missed out on the opportunity for that ride! Nobody at Pork Belly could definitively tell us where our bikes were. Many of us left the Pork Belly area, went to setup camp, came back and still waited several hours for our bikes to arrive. Other than some minor damage to my stem, my bike was taken care of. I did notice several bikes being laid derailleur side down (pics attached), which was disappointing as they claim they've been doing this for a long time and know how to handle bikes. I personally won't use Pork Belly in the future due to my experiences.

I can't sing enough praise about Pork Belly Ventures and their RAGBRAI support! Thanks to Tammy, Pete, and the whole Pork Crew, the Donner Party had a great time. 2022 was my 20th RAGBRAI and my second year with Pork Belly. Hands down, the best support on RAGBRAI. Yes, the weather was fantastic this year, and with Pork Belly, we never had to worry about anything. We had great camping, hot showers, cold lemonade + other beverages, dinner, and fantastic daily entertainment, including Maddie Poppe. I loved that once I got to camp, I didn't have to go anywhere or worry about anything. Even when one of our members had an accident, you and your crew helped in every way possible to make that easier. Thank you again for all your crazy hard work to pull this off year after year. We can't wait for next year. ❤❤❤

Great experience with awesome people. I used Pork Belly Ventures for my campsite at Unbound ’24, and it worked out great. The tent was roomy, set up correctly and ready to go. The showers were clean and well set up, and they had coffee, plenty of phone/gadget charging available, and a nice area to hang out in the shade with staff and fellow campers. I had one issue with my air mattress losing air over the night, but they were responsive, and I would have had another one ready for me if I had asked earlier. Finally, the staff was great. I enjoyed a long chat with the camp host, and it was just a great vibe and exactly what you’d hope for at a bike or other outdoor type event.

I used pkbelly.com for my stay before 2021 Unbound. The tents were clean and set up when we arrived. The showers have great water pressure and Pete and the crew are super friendly! I would recommend them 100%

Pork Belly Ventures knows how to make a camp experience enjoyable for cyclists even when the conditions are not. Their dedicated staff works so hard to provide a level of service and outdoor amenities that cyclists need and appreciate. Hot beverages in the morning, cold beverages in the afternoon. Fully supported tent service, shower trucks, in camp caterer meals, laundry service, bike mechanics, massage therapists, even entertainment. PBV also strives to work with local partners on bike routes to enhance options like indoor sleeping and access to flush toilets. I have done 6 tours with them and have always been pleased. I will say size of tour does factor amenities offered and if tours are over 1200 riders, lines are long. Nevertheless, I highly recommend!

I have have ridden RAGBRAI 10 times. 9 times with a different character service. 2923 was my first year with Pork Belly Ventures week long support service. Pork Belly Ventures truly goes above and beyond. I will be continuing to ride with Pork Belly Ventures. Not all charters are the same. Thank you Pete, Tammy and your entire staff for making Ragbrai 2023 the best I have ever experienced!!!

Pete and Tammy are very professional and helpful. During the booking process they ensured we had the right shuttle and they are very responsive to both emails and calls. They are a fair company with very good business practices. I would highly recommend them.
