Great place to stay. Clean rooms, confirmable bed, softest towels I've ever had at a motel all at a great price. Staff is also great.

I was a guest of Mt Ayr Inn and Suites from 10/29-11/4/24. From the moment I entered the building, I was hit with charm as the lobby was all decorated for Halloween. That was such a nice treat! I could tell immediately that the staff cared greatly about the facility and tried to make each guest feel welcome. And to my surprise on the 1st of November all Halloween decor was replaced with Thanksgiving! I loved this personal touch!

When unexpected circumstances led to my short visit lasting longer, the front desk team made sure that I had a comfortable place to rest each evening. They went above and beyond to make sure that I didn't have to change rooms, due to this last minute stay, and I would have gladly moved from room to room each night! But their behind the scenes work to ensure my ease of staying with them, did not go unnoticed.

What also didn't go unnoticed was how clean the whole facility is. I am married to a "Mr Clean", and he was impressed by how hard the ladies worked to clean every room! And speaking of the rooms, a mini frig, coffee maker and small microwave in each room was such a nice touch! The incredible water pressure in the shower was welcomed, as were the complimentary shampoo & conditioner. The rooms are quiet, even with it being the first weekend of hunting season and the hotel was booked with a large wedding in the area. I never heard a thing once in my room.

As a former Iowan, now living in TX, the purchase of Casey's donuts to accompany the continental breakfast each day was so special! (We miss Casey's!) The breakfast available had a nice variety, toast, bagels, cereals, breakfast burritos or sandwiches, delicious coffee, apple and orange juices, yogurts and a waffle maker! So many choices for even the pickiest breakfast eaters.

What I really want to commend, is how safe and cared for the whole team made me feel. My trip to Mt Ayr was one where I learned of my Dad's medical diagnosis, and I was not "OK" in hearing the news. These ladies looked after me, and made sure that I was safe, even when going through one of the hardest things in my life. The kindness and sincerity that each of them showed me, will never be forgotten. I was treated as if they had known me all their lives. I appreciate them all so very much!

I would absolutely recommend to anyone needing a place to stay in SW Iowa to be sure and check Mt Ayr Inn and Suites!

Rooms were clean, common areas such as stairways could have been better kept. Stayed on second floor, no elevator that I could find. I'm still somewhat young so no problem. Shower had good pressure and drained properly. Front desk people were surly, had to really try to even get them to smile. ||Didn't eat the breakfast, but signs everywhere about a $10 per person charges if non-hotel guests were to join you for continental breakfast. I guess that has been an issue with the locals- which there were some "interesting" people hanging around.||Probably will bite my lip and stay there again if forced to do so, but definitely not looking forward to it.

Beds i think were memory foam and both had sunken middles,but despite that they were comfortable. As a couple you'd probably wind up rolling to each other in middle.
Breakfast they tried with Jimmy dean style breakfast sandwiches, but not my style
I had a roadside room i didnt notice sound until morning. If you are sensitive to sounds stay on side away from road

Room was way too smelly with those cheap bathroom air refreshers. Had to sleep with open windows. Would be fine but someone decided to puke under the windows for 3 hours straight .
Breakfast was good enough for this type of hotel, no issues here

I travel a lot for work and have stayed here quite a bit. Kathy is the sweetest manager I have ever met! The rooms are recently renovated and super nice and clean. Housekeeping does an amazing job at making sure you come back to a clean room every day and are super respectful. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Visiting for graduation. Rooms were very nice. Better than we actually expected. Beds were so very comfortable and rooms were very clean. Breakfast was yummy as well. It was the only place in town to stay and definitely well worth it! Morning front desk lady was very friendly! Would definitely stay here again!

The Options Exteriors team and I have had the pleasure of staying in, without a doubt, the most pristine hotel we’ve ever stayed in a small town. Kathy and her staff are so welcoming, and hilarious! The newly remodeled rooms are the equivalent to any 5 star hotel I’ve ever stayed at in major cities across the country. Everyday our rooms are neatly cleaned will ample linens, plenty of hygiene products and all other necessary amenities that make for a comfortable stay. The continental breakfast is nice, but I would also recommend Jamie’s Coffee Mill & Deli for their breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Hats off to the residents of Ringgold County that make this business such a wonderful oasis. Mount Ayr Inn, thank you for making us feel at home!
